San Diego Job Market
Northrop and General Atomics have big presence in north county. BAE and L3harris are also here. The turnover is usually really high because the pay is bad comparing to the cost of living in San Diego. Defense companies are slowly getting priced out by tech companies and many of them are gradually downsizing their presence in San Diego. Lockheed Martin already closed their main office in the region a few years ago. Apple just bought a huge piece of land in Rancho Bernardo. Right next to Northrop, GA, and BAE. In the future their employees need to compete with Apple engineers in the rental housing market, which will be a nightmare. Viasat also have some cleared roles in Carlsbad and they pay better. You have a TS/SCI and a master so it shouldn’t be hard to find a defense job here. Some of them will let you start at level two without question. The entry level job market is bad now so it’s not a bad idea to start in defense for 1-2 years, just don’t stay too long and keep your skills sharp

Popular night market Foodieland coming to San Diego County for first time
I was interested, then I went to the fox5news article that had no solid details on vendors attending other than cost and location. Then I went to the foodie website and got no more information.
Edit 22/05/07: There is an event map up on their site now that I didn't recall seeing when I first visted, It may have been there, may not, but it's there now. https://foodielandnm.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/FoodieLand-SD-2022-V1.pdf I have not edited the rest of my original message, just inserted this paragraph.
So, let's see if I got this right, $10 to park one vehicle, $5 (+ 0.73 eventbrite fee) per person to get in, then stand in long lines to pay (sometimes only with cash) for food from an unknown selection of vendors since they have no listing of participating vendors on their website?
I'd be less cynical if there was actually a listing of participating vendors, rather than an instagram page full of food pictures from other events.
It's one week before the event, it's not as if they they don't know who's participating.
More on reddit.comI bought a house. It can be done!
Wanted to share because I have seen a lot of posts lately where people are completely deflated and lost all hope about being able to buy here in SD. It’s tough, but it can be done.
i think you didnt realize that the average salary in SD is about 68k.
i bought a house too, but like you, i make over 100k.
most people cant simply save the 5% for a 700k house. and even if they do save it, they cant afford a 4000 mortgage payment
