The San Francisco Historical Society exists to uncover, preserve, and present, in engaging ways, the colorful and diverse history of our city from its earliest days to the present.

Opened on November 6, 2008, the Historical Society Museum is housed in the former offices of the California Water Service Company. For twenty years the museum operated out of the Magnolia Senior Center (601 Grand Avenue).
