Hello!
Moving to the San Jose area and looking for some Country Club recommendations!
I know it's the bay area, but I'd like to keep the initiation fee sub $20k and yearly sub $12k!
I've done a fair amount of research and will golf some of the courses once I move, but looking for some insight that some natives (or transplants) may have!

June 20, 2023Born and raised in San Jose, CA and finally had the opportunity to play at San Jose Country Club. Beautiful layout and plenty of challenges throughout. Par 70 course built in 1912. ⛳️
Good for you. My parents were members there in the 70s. I got to play it lot until I turned 25. It’s a good challenge for a shortish par 70. If you look behind the green on the 4th picture you’ll see a large wire fence. That was known as Mollie’s fence. My mother, Mollie, was teeing off on #4 and pulled one over the 3rd green and hit another lady standing there. The other lady sued her and the club. She wasn’t hurt bad and didn’t win anything, but the club put the fence up to protect other people. More on reddit.com

We are members at FYC. We joined 5 yrs ago as out of town members and didn’t have any problems getting to know ppl but I do play tennis so that helped. We officially moved into Ortega last year and love it! My assumption would be that there are more transplants/midwesterners at FYC. TCC is definitely old money Ortega and much “snobbier” in my opinion. More on reddit.com
