Born and raised in San Jose, CA and finally had the opportunity to play at San Jose Country Club. Beautiful layout and plenty of challenges throughout. Par 70 course built in 1912. ⛳️
Good for you. My parents were members there in the 70s. I got to play it lot until I turned 25. It’s a good challenge for a shortish par 70. If you look behind the green on the 4th picture you’ll see a large wire fence. That was known as Mollie’s fence. My mother, Mollie, was teeing off on #4 and pulled one over the 3rd green and hit another lady standing there. The other lady sued her and the club. She wasn’t hurt bad and didn’t win anything, but the club put the fence up to protect other people. More on reddit.com

Rancho del Pueblo, 9 hole course in the east side usually always has tee times available. I would also recommend Pruneridge which is also a 9 hole. Both courses are good for beginners. More on reddit.com

The breakfast buffet had a nice assortment of items. The omelette station was amazing! You also have a choice of a pre fixed menu.

Sunken Gardens, Black Berry Farms, and Deep Cliff are all short courses. San Jose Muni is a full sized regulation course with wide open fairways that are flatter than piss on a frying pan.
