Hey,
If I'm seeing this right, with Consorsbank, if you're under 31 or have a salary of 700€ or more coming in, you get a free checking account, including a Girocard, and you can choose either a Visa debit card or a real (!) Visa credit card ("Credit Card Gold Light").
Apparently, with this real (only with the real one) credit card, you can withdraw cash anywhere in the world, including Germany, as often as you want and without a minimum amount.
To me, the offer sounds great, but I'm wondering if it's all true or if I've overlooked something.
I'm also interested in your experiences with Consorsbank and what the consequences are for me in everyday life if I handle all my purchases (supermarket, etc.) with such a real credit card.
Also, what do you think of the Consorsbank app?
In case anyone's interested in why I want to switch and what my personal background is:
I want to get away from my local Raiffeisenbank and am looking for a new bank for everyday use, i.e., a checking account and a call money account for short-term savings. The main reasons for me to switch are the 8.90€ account management fees and the ridiculous and obviously unchangeable limit of 500€ ApplePay per 30 days.
Just a quick note about me: I'm in my mid-twenties, but I just don't have a good feeling about all the "modern" banks like N26 or C24, even though a lot of people in my age group are there. Phone contact is also important to me, so I've put ING diba and now Consors Bank in the shortlist. Things like foreign currency fees, app gimmicks, securities accounts, etc. aren't really important to me. I just want a reliable new bank where, ideally, I can withdraw cash at any ATM at any time, even <50€.
Thanks in advance! :)
