Santander Open Banking not listing all accounts
Not a Santander issue, it's down to what the product you are using supports. Originally Open banking could only access payment-enabled accounts that have a numeric sort code and account number. Accounts which didn't have those numeric sort code account numbers and didn't allow external payments weren't listed, such as Santander's regular saver accounts. Now Santander and others have newer APIs which support other account number styles, and other account types such as credit cards, but probably still don't list savings accounts which don't accept external payments. Santander 123 Account in 2025 still worth it or are there better options worth switching to?
Santander has a comparison calculator on their website. New current account options pay more interest, less cashback and have higher fee. https://www.santander.co.uk/personal/current-accounts/santander-edge-up-current-account More on reddit.com

Is it worth paying £3 a month for Santander edge for the 7% (max £4000) savings account?
To work that out, you need to know how much the account costs per year, how much extra interest you get per year in £ terms, and whether the cost is more or less than the additional income. More on reddit.com

Do you pay taxes on high-yield savings account interest?
The IRS specifically says that interest earned on bank accounts is taxable interest.  If you earned $10 or more, you will receive Form 1099-INT. That form is usually generated toward the beginning of the calendar year, after you’ve earned more than $10 in interest during the previous tax year.

Best High-Yield Savings Accounts Of January 2026 - Up to 4.20% ...
Do high-yield savings account rates change?
Yes, high-yield savings account rates do change. Competitive banks and credit unions have a tendency to adjust their interest rates based on the Federal Reserve’s rate moves. Unlike CD rates, which are locked for a set term, savings account yields tend to be variable, which means they could change at any time. A bank may decide to lower or raise savings account APYs for various reasons. It may increase its rate as part of a promotion to attract more deposits, or it may adjust rates in response to broader economic factors, such as changes to Federal Reserve monetary policy.
