Hey guys,
I'm working on a masterbathroom reno for my house. We're gutting the current bathtub and replacing it with a walk in shower, most likely curbless. I looked into all the different options for waterproofing and decided on going with Kerdi board panels, and everything there looks great.
I bought the panels, the washer/screw kit, thinset, kerdi tape, kerdi recessed shelves, etc. The only thing I need to finalize is how to create the actual shower pan. I've seen lots of different methods. From using kerdi membrane, to using their "kits", to using redguard, to using rubber liner, etc. But I'm still a bit confused on what the proper way to do it w/ the rest of the kerdi setup would be.
I want a line drain at the end of the shower, so I know there has to be a slight angle on the floor to accommodate the water rolling there. That's basically all I know for the floor. The size is a bit non-standard. It's going to be 48in by 65ish-in, so none of the kerdi kits fit this. I don't have space to go to the larger 70ish inch kit, and I don't want a smaller 48x48 kit either! So I need to do this w/o a ready-to-go solution.
Can someone please help me with the proper setup on a custom pan? Any tips would be great too!
Thanks so much :)
