I recently switched from RBC to Scotiabank for the sole reason of using samsung pay (RBC wallet is the worst payment app ever). I'm a student so I don't have much money in my accounts anyways so it was easy to switch over. I got two accounts, one chequing and one savings
I got the card on tuesday, everytime i try to add it to samsung pay, i get past the terms and conditions but it says there's an issue with the card. Do i have to wait a few business days before adding the card or do i need to use the account number from the specific chequing or savings account?

July 5, 2024 - Samsung Wallet doesn't accept Scotiabank Debit cards. It does accept Scotiabank Visa and all CIBC debit/Visa cards. If you want to use Scotiabank Debit then use Google Pay instead, it accepts all bank cards as well Visa cards.

Edit: fixed itself after a few hours
Trying to set up Samsung Pay but when I enter my card details (Scotiabank Momentum Visa), I get a "Card not supported" error. But looking at the list of supported cards, it clearly says that Scotiabank Visa cards are supported. What gives?

I had no issues adding my Scotiabank SCENE debit card and SCENE Visa to Samsung Pay so you shouldn't have had any issues but I would really recommend you giving Scotiabank a call and tell them that you're experiencing issues with adding your Scotia Momentum VISA to Samsung Pay and they should be able to help you figure out what's going on and help you with getting your card provisioned within Samsung Pay. I've had to do that in the past and they've been very helpful.

Is adding Scotia Amex to Samsung Pay working?
When I accepted Scotia T&C, I get error 642299 and get a phone number to contact Samsung support.
Samsung support suggested to uninstall Samsung Pay and when that did work, the support said it is on the bank's side.
Called the bank and said there is nothing wrong on their side. The support did see a request and manually approved it and said wait a few days and try again.
I will try again tomorrow, but since Google Pay had no problem, is it normal for me to have this must trouble trying to add the card to Samsung Pay?

I don't have Samsung Pay but Apple Pay and the Scotia Amex Platinum - each time i restore my iphone and put my Scotia Amex again... on the screen i must validate for security (Scotia Bank apps open) - i must try 20-30 time each time to successful validate the card... I now have this card for 2 years and each time same things... ( restored 9 time and switched iphone 2 time ) - i have a visa for scotialine line of credit and don't have this problem...

I know they are currently doing maintenance to a bunch of credit card systems. Not sure if it includes AmEx, but this extended maintenance is going on until Nov 12. Might be the cause of your issues

Moved from s23U to s25U and everything is great except from veing able to add Scotiabank AmEX card on the S25U. Anyone experienced the same?

When this happened to me, I had to remove it completely from my old device, give it 24 hours and add it to my new phone.. s23U to s24U

Sadly experiencing the same problem with Scotiabank Amex Gold. Works with Google Wallet, but I prefer Samsung Wallet. No issues with any other cards including other Amex cards. Might be a Samsung/Scotiabank issue.
