I have narrowed it down to these 2 banks to open a students savings and checking account in (both offer zero annual fees accounts) and to get credit cards (again, both offer no annual fee cc's to students).
I've heard mixed reviews about both and am quite confused as to which one to select. I am staying in Victoria, BC.
I would also be interested in getting CC's that offer better cashbacks or travel points. Based on this, which one do you think would make more sense for me?
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
Hello,
I have my first bank account and credit card in Canada as an international student with Scotiabank. The card only has a limit of $500 and any attempts to increase limit or apply for a new card just fails.
All this while I have built a stellar credit score with 7 other credit cards and a very healthy 5 digit overall limit.
I am no longer a student and work full time, I don’t understand why Scotia wouldn’t give me a new card. I have a big international trip coming up where I’d love to use the Passport Visa.
Is there any way I can get the card? Will it be worth going to a branch and seeing someone?
Thanks
