Hello, in the past, I've used a lawn care service for taking care of my yard (under 5000 sq ft, bermuda grass). This year, I decided to try it out myself - how good is Scott's 4 step program? https://program.scotts.com/
For my yard, it recommends
Early spring - Scotts Turf Builder Southern Lawn Food (in april - so not a pre-emergent!)
Late Spring - Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Bermudagrass (May-June)
Early summer - Scotts Turf Builder Summerguard Lawn Food with Insect Control (July)
Fall - Scotts Turf Builder Weed & Feed (Late Aug)
Does this make sense? or would you recommend a different plan?
Thanks!
Driving home from my friend’s house and I see one of his neighbors a couple of houses down working on his yard. It was beautiful green and lush. I stopped in the middle of the road and asked what kind of grass does he have and what he uses. He said it was Tall Fescue and he uses Scott’s program. I see a lot of hate for the Scott’s products but does anyone have any success stories like him? Or was he BSing me and kept his secret.
I'm trying to figure out what the ingredient in Scott's Summerguard and Winterguard that makes it better than something with just N and K and the website doesn't even tell you what the analysis is. What is everyone's thoughts on Scott's products? Am I correct to assume I want higher K in the summer application and higher N if the fall? Anything else?
