19 hours ago - During the fall of the Assad regime, a period marked by instability and uncertainty, Turkey and its affiliated militant group, the Syrian National Army (SNA), launched various offensives against Kurdish-controlled areas east of the Euphrates. Following months of fighting, which stalled near the Tishrin Dam, and an SDF counteroffensive in December 2024, SDF leader Mazloum Abdi and Syrian transitional government leader Ahmed al-Sharaa signed the U.S.-backed 10 March agreement, which implemented a country-wide ceasefire and laid out principles for the integration of the DAANES into the new Syrian government.

r/Syria on Reddit: Whats the problem with sdf (syrian democratic forces)(qasad قسد)
December 27, 2023 -

Hi Typically media shows the sdf as being the best side of the Syrian civil war, but I have seen that a lot seem to dislike them here (and on the internet on general)

Is there a side of the story that the media doesn't show ? I have always thought that their idea of federal syria was good tbh

WTF did I just read here, shame on you ⁦‪@abdalhadealani‬⁩ for making such comments, for you to deny the ethnic cleansing that the SNA did and perpetrate in Afrin 2018 and Ras Al-Ayn 2019 and before that ISIS-Certain factions in North Aleppo countryside in 2013, I have no words, like the United Nations, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty documented it, and the SNA intends to repeat the ethnic cleansing in Kobani and Northern Hasakah, so basically you consider Kurds to be 3 class citizens or better off undesirables, like I NEVER denied SDF’s own ethnic cleansing of Tal Rifaat nor Shuyukh, also the Syrian National Army has the characteristics of criminal syndicates and terrorist groups with what they do from torture, killing, dispossession and discrimination and sex trafficking, the Main reason why Deir Ez Zor and Raqqa and Hasakah fell to ISIS is because the Syrian Opposition did not build any institutions in these areas, which made them prone to falling to ISIS, Like Jolani in Idlib, Alloush in Ghouta, and FSA in Northern Homs and Southern Front in Daraa built institutions that prevented ISIS from occupying the area, stop putting the faults of the Armed Syrian Opposition on other armed factions, I don’t understand why y’all romanticized the Syrian National Army which is very weak and will crumble like the Southern Lebanon Army did in 2000, when the time comes, the SNA has no institutions no strength, they will never get far, either the situation in Syria remains frozen or Bashar Al-Assad totally wins the war
