Today we went to 2 stores, online mattress showroom and mattress firm. At mattress firm we liked the sealy highpoint. At online showroom we liked Harvest pillow top.
Both mattresses have 1090 coils. The Harvest is 13 inch thick latex. The sealy is 14 inch foam. Seems like almost identical except foam vs latex.
Any thoughts on the pros or cons of latex vs foam? Or the 2 mattresses in general? The latex did feel more bouncy, but it wasn't a big issue for us. The latex felt more cool, but the foam wasn't bad either (sleeping hot has never really been a big issue for us). It sounds like latex might hold up better over time? They both were very comfortable, maybe the sealy wins for comfort but they were very close for us. Sealy does seem like a more legit brand with likely better customer service if theres any issues.

Has anyone tried the Sealy Posturepedic Carver 11” Firm mattress? What are your thoughts or reviews?
My girlfriend and I are going to be moving in with each other and I’m looking to upgrade the mattress. We went to a mattress firm and had a wonderfully awful time but did figure out that we want the classic style spring mattress, firm, and a soft pillow top.
I am a back/side sleeper and she is a side sleeper. I’m 6’4 260 and she’s 6’0 230ish? and sometimes/every night a 60lb golden retriever will find her way up on the bed.
In our short time trying out different mattresses at MF before getting told they were done helping us cause we weren’t purchasing one that day, we liked the beauty rest, and sterns and foster but they were like 3200$ and that’s just too much. When we made our way to Costco we noticed the sealy mattress was under 1000 and I do love me the Costco return policy so I did a little more research. We narrowed it down to 2 mattresses and if anyone here has some input from using them it would be really appreciated!

Both would be a king/plush - we want a firm mattress with a soft top. These were our middle ground diecoveries.:
I honestly couldn’t tell you the difference between the 2 other than a whopping 1/2 inch. We did find ourselves at Costco the other day and tried laying on the non plush version and we both thought it was pretty good but still wanted that plush pillow top. Some things I guess I would be most curious about if someone in a similar stat situation as me had some experience with.
was this mattress able to survive some larger users?
were you happy with it down the road?
would a firm version and pillow top be a better option?
should I pick it up from Costco or have it delivered?
slats, box spring, flat board? Where we at with what it sits on?
if you hated the same mattress and returned it what did you wind up with after and same questions.
I went to Mattress Firm and this mattress is the one that is $1649 but is currently marked down to $699 for Memorial Day Sale just for reference.
I tried a bunch of mattresses that were under $2k and this was the best I could find. It’s the softest one to me that still had the most support and it doesn’t feel like the entire bed is uptight enough that it won’t let my back muscles relax when laying on my back. I really like it but I don’t know if it’ll last years.
The other one that I liked but liked way less because it wouldn’t let my back muscles relax is the Sleepys Hybrid Medium Mattress (Queen mattress). I really didn’t find much else I liked even if I went up to $5k (which I would never pay). They just didn’t work for my back since I have a bulging spinal disc where I have to have it be extremely fricken soft while also having some kind of support.
I really need like the softest thing imaginable while also not having my spine sink and fall out of my back is basically what I need to relax and be okay. So do you know if the first mattress is fine to buy and keep longterm? And also there are no more mattresses at my Mattress Firm that I like that are under $2k even with Memorial Sale so what do I do if these mattresses aren’t any good quality?
Hi everyone.
My fiance and I are looking for a new mattress. We went into Mattress Firm and fell in love with the Sealy Posturepedic Plus Hybrid High Point 14" Plush Mattress. However, the price tag is a little steep and we can't seem to find much about it outside reviews on their website.
We currently sleep on a rented inner spring mattress so we're pretty sure anything will be better than that. But we're also not super keen on spending over $2,000 on something we won't love.
We're looking at a queen size. He's 5'10 and I'm 5'1, both mid-size. We're side sleepers and both have pretty bad back pain from our bed.
We would also appreciate any insight in general about good mattresses for side sleepers, if you have any!
Thanks in advance for any help!
