I received a letter from Citi today informing me that, effective April 12, my Sears Mastercard will become a Citi ThankYou Mastercard. Citi probably didn't see the value in continuing to carry the Sears name on these accounts. Even though I used the card sparingly due to a lack of stores and onerous APR for general purposes, not seeing a Sears card in my wallet for the first time since 1994 will be odd.

Honestly, I do wish I had applied for one last year. You could, I believe, it was July of 2023 just for the novelty of having one, I guess, lol.

February 25, 2025 - Yesterday I received a letter from Citi stating that this credit card will be replaced on 4/12/2025 with a new Citi ThankYou Mastercard. The account number will not be changing so the current Sears Mastercard credit card can continue to be used for purchases until the new replacement card is received and activated in May-June.

Hi everyone,
I'm considering applying for a Citi Sears Credit Card because I've heard a lot about their generous spending offers throughout the year. However, I'm a bit confused about the different card variations I've come across online.
On one page linked from Doctor of Credit, I see this card:https://www.shopyourway.com/credithub/overview
But on another page, I see multiple variations like:
Sears Mastercard® with ThankYou® Rewards
Shop Your Way Mastercard
I'm now a bit unsure which variation to apply for. Could someone please clarify the differences between these cards?
Also, are the cashback rewards earned on these cards equivalent to ThankYou points?
Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I think we can only apply for the shop your way version. The rest are discontinued/retired and I guess the owners of those cards can still use them

Be careful, the offers are not guaranteed. I get good offers but they are somewhat rare. Last time I got one was 5 months ago.
