I have Seasonal Affective Disorder. I've been recording my mood for ~3 years to see how the weather affects it [OC]
wait, your mood gets worse in hot weather? it's more common the opposite way for the disorder, right? amazing data btw! I do not have anything like a disorder, but I get so moody on cloudy and cold weather, it even affects my productivity... luckily I live in a tropical country! More on reddit.com

TIL about SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), a type of depression related to changes in the season. Symptoms start in the fall and continue into the winter months, sapping your energy and making you feel moody.

I have the exact opposite of this I think. The long days and bright sun in the summer absolutely wrecks me. I can't sleep, I'm irritable and have headaches all the time. I always look forward to the winter, which in Vancouver is 8 months of dark and rainy.

Every year I fall victim to SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). This year I started taking my neighbors dog for walks, and his joy for life has kept me positive through the long winter.

I’m so glad your neighbours are good with you taking their dog for a walk. And even happier the dog goes with you willingly - it’s a win-win-win!

Do tanning beds help seasonal affective disorder?
No, tanning beds aren’t an effective treatment for SAD. Tanning beds may provide temporary benefits for your mood — but light therapy generally works best when it enters through your eyes, not your skin. Visible light assists your body's internal clock during the cloudier and chillier months. Tanning beds also come with potentially serious risks with routine use, including skin cancer.
