I work in ticketing and I see a lot of issues with secondary marketplaces like SeatGeek, StubHub, Vivid Seats, etc. This is one of the biggest issues we deal with on show nights and since they are secondary market, venues can’t help you (and aren’t obligated to). You do have some recourse as you can usually dispute the charge with your credit card company but you’ve already missed the show and had a lousy experience. All that being said, many people have had great experiences with secondary market tickets. It really just depends on the sellers and whether they are shitty people looking to rip you off and there isn’t any way to discern who is or is not a good seller. Best bet for resale is to go through TM+ or AXS’s resale programs. But there are issues there too…again, with unscrupulous sellers. i got my tickets for his show through there and had no issues! i got 2 for sterling heights and they went to my ticketmaster acc as soon as i got them. it’s been a while since i got them back during the initial sales so i don’t remember the whole process, i just remember it being smooth lol. SeatGeek is definitely legit, but look at the in-hand date for the tickets. Often people are selling tickets that they don't actually have. They're betting that they can get the tickets, for less than the price they sold them to you for, by the in-hand date (usually a day before the concert). Sometimes what happens is people can't deliver tickets they don't have and so a day before the concert, you have to scramble and call SeatGeek and they will either refund you or find you tickets. But yes, SeatGeek is fine. Look for tickets with good in-hand dates at least a few days before the day of concert.
