Gigabyte Gaming X DDR4 / Win 11 / F4
TPM 2.0 is set correctly and verified by tpm.msc
Secure boot is enabled in bios, but in windows it shows it is turned off. One other post 8 months ago had the same problem but no answer in the thread. Anyone got any advice? I followed a few videos/threads that all said the same thing, but it just isn't working even though it all shows correct in Bios.
Found this in another subreddit thought I’d share it here as well since it fixed my game in case anyone else is having the issue. Its a bios glitch that says it’s enabled when it’s really not. On the secure boot settings if it says Mode: Setup
-
disable secure boot if it says enabled
-
if it says standard change to custom
-
change custom to standard accepting factory reset (pc may reboot after doing this. Mine did)
-
go back to bios and enable secure boot

First off, I am not super knowledgeable with computers so I apologize in advance.
I just built a new pc with a Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX V2 ATX Motherboard and a Ryzen 7 7700x CPU
I tried to play Valorant tonight but I’m getting the VAN9003 error. “This version of Vanguard requires Secure Boot to be enabled in order to play…”
I checked my bios and I have Secure Boot enabled but I also have a Secure Boot Mode that is disabled. Do I need to enable Secure Boot Mode as well? If so will that mess up anything on my computer?
Also in my research I found something saying TPM 2.0 also needs to be enabled? I’m not sure where to find this in my bios. I’ve tried searching for it and nothing pops up….
I tried a week or two ago following an online tutorial to enable secure boot on my PC with a Z390 Gigabyte Motherboard. Not surprising it ended in almost bricking my motherboard, having to reset bios by taking the battery out.
My little brother really wants to play valorant so i decided to give it another shot, but most youtube tutorials have comment sections saying that they bricked their motherboard or had a black screen on boot.
Is there a way to easily do this? I’ve only got a day till I head out to college and would feel bad if I didnt get valorant ready for him.
Hi, wanted to try out Valorant. Yeah I know, big surprise, but all these secure boot nightmare posts made me apprehensive. I'm not that familiar with all this so forgive me if it sounds dumb. This isn't a "I've bricked my PC how to fix" post, it's running fine as of right now. Just figured I'd ask people if there were any tried and true tested ways to do this with this info on the system and BIOS:
B450 GAMING X motherboard, 2060s GPU, Ryz 7 3700, BIOS last updated 2019
Win11, UEFI mode on, TPM on, boots from SSD in GPT, has an external HDD connected
Read a post on Tom's Hardware forum and this is what I think I'd have to do, I'm just not sure if all these steps are necessary, if there are missing steps, or if any of these steps carry any risks. I've seen people mention disabling CSM, then saving, restarting, and going back into BIOS. Was wondering if disabling CSM has caused anyone any issues, or if that's fine to do with no risks of anything. Next, I'd have to go back into BIOS and select custom in secure boot, to go restore factory keys and select yes to reset without saving. Now save settings and restart PC to enter BIOS again, then change secure boot mode back to standard and yes to restart without saving.
I know it's a lot, and a lot of people have asked a bunch of times. Just seems like everyone has different issues so figured I'd ask here first before messing with anything and causing an issue. Thanks for any help given
