SeeStar/ZWO have essentially confirmed in the last few weeks that a seestar s50 pro is on the way. That one will probably perform better than the s30 pro due to improved sensor and larger aperture. Not sure how the compare to dwarflab. Answer from astrocomrade on reddit.com

A nice comparison article, SeeStar and Dwarf models. - Smart Telescopes - Cloudy Nights
I've been "kicking the tires" on purchasing a smart telescope for the last several months. I've read quite a bit, pro and con, both on CN and elsewhere. I ran across this comparison from March of this year which I thought had a good blend of both the technical bits and some fine examples: https:/... More on cloudynights.com

Dwarf 3 vs Seestar S30, pros and cons - Smart Telescopes - Cloudy Nights
I'm thinking of adding a quick grab and go smart telescope to my collection and recently watched Astrobiscuit's testing of a Dwarf 3 and the SeeStar S30. While he had a very small sampling, his results leaned towards the S30. Does anyone else know of any comparisons or had real world experience w... More on cloudynights.com

I'm confused between wanting to buy Dwarf 3 and waiting for the Seestar s30 pro
The S30 pro will have better specs, but will probably be priced accordingly. Also, it is not released yet. For the difference it’s going to make in the imaging, no one really knows yet, but I suspect it won’t be huge because their specs will be very comparable. Personally, I think they are similar enough in specs to go for the one that is available now rather than wait. Especially as there’s been no confirmed release date for the pro, and no confirmed price. The dwarf is capable of some pretty good images. I’m a new user and here’s one of my results attached… I think it’s pretty good anyway 😊 More on reddit.com

Seestar S30 v Dwarf II - Discussions - EEVA Equipment - Stargazers Lounge
February 1, 2025 - I have a Dwarf II, but am tempted by the S30. It seems really competitively priced compared to a Dwarf III. Having owned some zwo stuff I expect the S30 to be pretty good and from what I read and see on YouTube the software on S30 would be better than the Dwarf II I have. So, would the S30 be bet...

Seestar S30 Pro vs Dwarf 3 (plus S30, S50 & Dwarf Mini) — Skies & Scopes
January 9, 2026 - Buy the S30 or Dwarf Mini if: You want the most affordable “entry ticket” to the hobby. ... Pro Tip: If you plan on doing long-exposure astrophotography, factor in the cost of a fluid head tripod. The basic tripods included with these units are great for Alt-Az mode but usually require an upgrade for successful Equatorial (EQ) Mode tracking. And if you want to compare options beyond the Seestar and Dwarf lines, see our full guide to the best smart telescopes in 2026.

Dwarf Mini vs Seestar S30: a comparison from the expert
January 30, 2026 - The Seestar S30 has a longer focal length, resulting in a narrower field of view (FOV) compared to the Dwarf Mini. While a 30mm aperture remains compact for deep-sky work, the S30 is thus more focused on isolating specific objects.

Seestar S30: A Competitor to DWARF 3, Not an S50 Replacement – Astrofaber
October 2, 2024 - This comparison supports the idea that ZWO is aiming to challenge the DWARF 3 directly, creating a more compact alternative that appeals to a broader audience than the Seestar S50’s niche market. While the S30’s full technical specifications have not been released, the emerging details suggest it will offer simplified features like mosaic mode, a smaller aperture, and a lower price than the S50.

SeeStar S30 Pro vs Dwarf Mini: Which to Buy?
1 month ago - The S30 Pro and Dwarf Mini aren’t the only game in town when it comes to smart telescopes. The SeeStar S30 Pro succeeds the regular S30, which has the same IMX662 sensor as the Dwarf Mini and otherwise performs pretty similarly.

r/AskAstrophotography on Reddit: Zwo Seestar S30 or Dwarf 3?
December 9, 2024 -

Hello!

Over the past few weeks I’ve been going through the options of getting a digital telescope, due to being limited with portability and price, I’ve come down to the option between the dwarf 3 and the zwo seestar s30. I’ve heard great things about both of them but I don’t know which is actually better in practice. The 200€ gap between the two isn’t really a problem, but I do want to know that I’m getting the best possible option between the two.

Thanks to anyone reading and a great day to you all!
