What do you think? Will the Seestar S50 pro be released as early as 2027? (Source in the comments). The source code recently surfaced. Here is the information that can be gleaned from the text: It shows the S50, S30, S30 pro and S50 pro (!) with data type, width, height, focus length, pixel size, and whether stacking, focus and RAW format are "possible". So, you could say that the Seestar S50 Pro has a normal and a wide-field mode. The pixel size and focus length remain are the same but the width and height are bigger. This means that the S50 Pro has a higher resolution than the S50.

About to jump into astrophotography and have decided on the S50 over the Dwarf 3.
Is Seestar set to release any new hardware over the next couple months that will cause buyer's remorse?
Thanks.
Hey everyone,
I’m seriously considering buying the ZWO Seestar S50 smart telescope, but I’m a bit hesitant because I’ve seen some hints and rumors that new versions might be on the way soon.
For those of you who already own one – do you still find it worth it in 2025, or would you recommend holding off for a potential upgraded model (maybe something like an “S50 Pro”)?
Would love to hear your thoughts or if anyone has inside info on what ZWO might be planning!
Clear skies!
I have official information that the S50 is now discontinued and a new Seestar Telescope is going to be released, and im not talking about the S30 pro..has anyone else heard the same?...exciting times.
This is the email I received bellow:
ZWO USA Order (ZWO Support)

Good morning, We will not be getting them in stock as we transition to a different model soon, but we sell them on Amazon and even have the option to purchase a refurbished one or a used return one at a discount.
Hey everyone,
I've been seriously considering buying a SeeStar S50 and I reached out to my local telescope retailer to ask about when they will receive more stock. They came back with this:
"Unfortunately it looks like the S50 is being discontinued. So far we haven't heard if they're going to be replacing it with another model but I'd imagine they will."
Has anyone else heard anything about this? Is there any chatter about a successor model in the works?
Last I saw, the S30 Pro was planned for a January 2026 release but that was a while ago.
I have very strongly rumored that ZWO is planning a pro version of the S50 (upgraded camera, improved battery, wide angle camera included). There’s also an S80 on the horizon. Neither of these will come out before fall 2025, however.
I know that nothing is confirmed yet, but I was wondering how the S50 Pro would look and differ from the regular S50, just like when the S30 Pro version was announced.
I know this post will probably get downvotes but I just asked a question regarding a possible S50 Pro.
nothing more
Now that they’re finally releasing the S30 Pro, I was planning to get the S50 to shoot more DSOs and planets. However, I love shooting the Milky Way, and the S30 Pro has that capability. I’d appreciate some help choosing between the two.
