If anyone is curious about how a Java-based Selenium framework is built, I have open-sourced my project on GitHub. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you!
This is quite bad. It's very visible you don't have any automation work experience or the projects you worked on are as bad as this one More on reddit.com
Selenium with Java automation project on GitHub
My first Selenium+Java project.
Good in general, a few notes though: - Don't add target and .idea folder to the repository - Personally I prefer to put my Base class in src not in test, and that class does all driver related options and setting up (for different browsers, and even Appium). - Try to include report generation. ExtentReports is my favorite - I would prefer to see some data driven elements in there. For example, store the login information in a separate file More on reddit.com
How to practice test automation with Selenium and Java
https://github.com/BMayhew/awesome-sites-to-test-on This is a list of demon sites you can practice testing on. I'd recommend just picking some app from that list, and treat it like a real project. Write up a test plan and cases like you would as a manual tester. Then try to write the automation to do it. Good first steps are just trying to login with valid and invalid credentials and verify that. Once you've got that working, test other functionality, and keep working at it until you feel comfortable. When you get stuck, look at the docs, check reddit or stack overflow or wherever. I'd also recommend ChatGPT when you're learning.its far from perfect, but it's pretty good at the basics. And when it gives you code, ask it to explain how it's working, or you can paste code you find online and ask it to explain that code, or whatever else. . More on reddit.com

This Test Automation Framework is created using Java + Selenium Web Driver + TestNG. Which can be used across different web based applications. In this approach, the endeavor is to build a lot of applications independent reusable keyword components so that they can directly used for another web application without spending any extra effort.
