So I’m looking to buy a new controller from them with a warranty. My old one crapped out on me with stick drift, it isn’t bad but it’s there. I read a comment that GameStop will give you some type of credit even if it’s messed up.
Is that true and if so how much do they give?

I have two controllers both with left stick drift. What's the long term solution? I've seen people replace the sticks, the pots and even heard mention of replacing the little discs inside the pots. Is replacing the discs a legitimate option or am I gonna have to bring out my soldering iron?

Replace with hall effect sticks is the only viable long term solution. Otherwise you will have drift again after a few years if you use normal potentiometers. It also all depends on your playstyle. I have my dualsense since launch, use it daily for all types of games and never had any drift issues.

Throw that shit away and buy a new 1. This is a new way sony introduced to milk us of our money. Surprisingly some controllers out there are solid and wont drift.
