What color should a guest wear to a wedding?
What should a female guest wear to a casual wedding?
What should a guest wear to a wedding after party?
I have a wedding this month and the dress code is “semi formal in bright spring colors. No blue or white”. The wedding is at noon on a Friday. It will probably be in the mid 70s.
I’m having a hard time finding anything. Can anyone make some suggestions? I’m an 16/18/1x with an inverted triangle shape.
I think there’s something about this dress code that doesn’t quite make sense in my mind.
EDIT: I have posted this twice and cannot get the photos to work, including links in the comments.
Attending a wedding in Riverside County (i.e. non-beach Southern California) in April. Venue is an events/banquet hall.
DC verbatim: "Please wear cocktail attire or semi-formal."
Including photos of ones I like so far, what are your thoughts? I am in my 30s, 5'3" and mid-size (size 8-10). I prefer options with sleeves and longer length (vs. cocktail dress length). I am size DD chest and don't want insane cleavage out there or necklines/cuts that would require some unsupportive bra situation. Objectively, I Iook best in jewel tones but I also like romantic florals :)
Hi! I need some help! I ordered a dress about two months ago ago for a friend's wedding where she specified "spring FORMAL attire". I just checked her wedding website last week to make sure I hadn't missed anything as the wedding is next weekend, and she has just changed it to "spring SEMI-formal". I'm glad I caught it, and I immediately ordered this dress that I thought might work and it would arrive in time for this coming weekend. It arrived yesterday and it's a bit longer on me than the midi-length on the model (hits me just barely above the ankle with heels on) and now I'm worried it won't work for a semi-formal DC.
After reading through this subreddit, I'm also realizing that I have no clue what semi-formal is. I thought it was between cocktail and formal, but others are saying it's a step below cocktail. Please let me know what you all think about this dress and if it's appropriate
The wedding is in the south and being held at an estate and the ceremony is at 5:30PM if that's any help.
Hi Reddit, sorry if this is a stupid question but I’m having trouble deciding as my boyfriend thinks it’s perfect but I’m on the fence, & I’m not super close with the bride or groom so wouldn’t want to bother them with dress approval questions. On the one hand, the description for the dress code makes it seem pretty casual, and the fact that this dress is ankle length probably doesn’t really fit that. On the other hand they say to take inspo from googling “garden party wedding” and I feel like most results are long dresses with a similar vibe? Also “just no jeans or tuxedos” kinda makes it sound like they’re cool with anything as long as it’s not casual or black tie?? They’re a young fun couple and from the weddings I’ve been to with similar crowds people tend to overdress rather than under (like I went to a cocktail dc wedding in a cocktail dress last year with an adjacent friend group and everyone else was wearing full length gowns lol) so I also don’t want to be the only one dressed down. Thoughts? Are the side cutouts/corset back too much regardless? I don’t really have any other spring-y options in my wardrobe and I’d really like to avoid having to buy another dress if possible (I own so many dresses lol). Thanks in advance!
