November 23, 2024Is it even worth trying to fix a shark? The hand held part sucks good but the belts broken and I think there’s hair caught inside the one piece of the brush. U have to open it to get to it.
Shark vacuums definitely have a convoluted design, making repairs difficult for the owners to do at home. Shark also continually comes out with the new, best model. When that manufacturing run is done, that's it. No run of "parts" that are intended for repairs. Therefore making repairs quite difficult. If you have the budget a Sebo or Miele are great choices. There is a recommend vacuums list in the auto-reply. Take a look at it, it's a good place to start, and has prices listed to give you an idea of what vacs are available in your price range. It’s a debated topic here. But imo no shark is worth saving. Maybe one of their older models before they got terrible. IMO send it out behind the barn and be done with it. Invest in one of the subs recs (typically Miele, Sebo or Henry) depending on your flooring and enjoy that for ~20 years or so.

June 8, 2024 - You will probably have to scavenge for parts from the same model via ebay, local vacuum stores that accept trade ins, local sales groups, thrift stores etc. ... Well with shark being a horrible brand, they don’t sell any replacements parts, they will only sell the whole motor unit with bin and and filters and I think with the battery, or you can buy the whole entire floor head assembly.
