I’ve recently purchased a shark detect pro and am very disappointed with its performance. The battery is insufficient and its head is useless with pet hair constantly clogging it up. Is there an upgrade for the head that would make this worth keeping or should I bin it and buy a Dyson?
Hi! I was wondering if anyone knows how to get the dirt out from behind this..
You don’t, they’re designed to be unrepairable.
Looks tough. Did a quick YouTube search but nothing popped up there that I thought was useful.
I'd probably try to blow it out with compressed air outside or more likely not worry about it at all. But these things don't bother me.

Hello! Have been over-researching cordless vacuums for months and need to make a decision. I know there are mixed opinions on Sharks here, but we’ve had an upright for probably 8 years and it is still working great.
Help me decide!
Want to stay in the $300 price range. I’ve used a Dyson and didn’t love enough to make the jump up in price
Home is mostly hardwood but two bedrooms have carpet and a large area rug in living room
two dogs, one sheds a lot and both track things inside and two kids that spill everything
I have very long hair so the anti hair wrap/removable brush roll is very appealing
I like to vacuum daily so ease of use/lightweight is a factor but not as big as others
I think I have it narrowed down to the Stratos, Vertex, and just added the Detect Pro in after seeing it on vacuum wars…
Thank you!!
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue with dust collecting inside the plastic compartment on the Model:IW3110C?
https://www.sharkclean.ca/products/shark-cordless-detect-pro-1.3l-auto-empty-system-with-quadclean-multi-surface-brushroll-zidIW3110C
I have called Shark Support many times, but they could not figure out how to clean or remove it (since it's attached to the dustbin. So, they replaced it with another one for me. However, I still face the same issue after using it a few times.
Hey y’all. I love my Shark Vacuum, but it has randomly stopped charging and self emptying. Has anyone got any advice? It charges for a a minute or so, but then randomly stops. These pictures show a new handheld part that Shark sent me, but they didn’t really know what was wrong with it either.
Shark is sending a full replacement, but it would be nice to get this one back up and running
Hey there,
I can get the Shark Detect Pro for $255 CDN, and it $380 if I get the auto emptying bin. Is it worth the $125 extra?
I just bought one of these from Best Buy for an effective $360 ($400 sale and extra 10% cardmember appreciation). I hadn't seen many reviews on it, probably because it's so new, so I was nervous. No need to be nervous: it is amazing!
I thought all of the fancy Detect things would just be gimmicks, but they really do make a difference. Dirt detect helps battery last a lot longer; I vacuumed hardwoods and area rugs for over a half hour and it was flashing 1 bar of battery, but still going. Edge detect is incredible because it kicks on and really does pull in dirt off the baseboards in ways no other vacuum has for me. Even light detect is nice because the light is always on the show dirt in front of the vacuum, but light detect also helps light up the room if it is dark.
I've had two Shark Navigator LiftAways. When I bought the second one, I noticed that they kept the general design the same over the years but improved the engineering on a few things (like adding structural fins to plastic parts prone to breaking) so I've been a Shark fan since noticing that. My previous cordless is a Bissell ClearView XR which was neat, but not super effective.
My area rugs feel like new. So much nasty dust was pulled out of the fibers. And the fins of the roller fluffed up the fibers. Seriously my rugs haven't felt this soft in years. This vacuum is amazing.
100% do yourself a favor and get the Clean & Empty version. Having a base to put the vacuum in which pulls all the hair and dust without any of it going into the air is such an improvement. With the Bissell, I'm always holding my breath when I empty it, my garbage can gets dusty, often I spill on the floor by accident. With this new Shark, it sucks it all down (base, then the vacuum does a little rev, then base again quickly) and I supposedly should only need to empty once a month, which means it is going to the outside bin no problem. Oh, and it charges from that base too so it's always ready for you.
Can't recommend this vacuum enough! Hope this review helps; I would've appreciated finding one before purchasing so I wasn't nervous for no reason!
Hello folks. I recently purchased a Shark Matrix robovac and was pretty pleased with the performance with one issue- I have 2 bedrooms where the threshold is a bit high and the bot could not get across them. I have seen the Detect Pro series that advertises a 'never stuck' system that will lift the unit to clear obstacles. Does anyone have any experience with success (or failures) with this model? I know some of the cheaper sharks are not so great, but the Matrix model did pretty well (if it could clear the thresholds it would be perfect). Any advice is appreciated.
Hello all,
I am between these 2 options. I know many people does not like sharks but i could not find any other options and these 2 seemed closest.
I do not have any pet so no problem there, only hair tangling will be my hair, 1 bd apartment unit. %90 carpet, %10 hardwood and tile. Which one would you suggest?
I’ve had the shark powerdetect nevertouch pro for awhile now and figured I would give a review on it so far.
Base station: The hub for the robot is decently sized. Not overly large or oddly shaped. It has a bagless debris bin. The bagless debris bin is nice for households with pets. We have 3 dogs and 2 cats. The debris canister can fill up quickly (more on that later). The debris canister also has a screw in place scent cartridge that helps with odors for the auto empty. This is probably necessary since the unit is bagless. The hub has 2 water canisters, one for dirty water and one for clean water. The clean water tank is good sized. The cleaning solution does get added directly to the clean water canister. Currently shark has only approved the specific vacmop solution that comes with it; they have a few other solutions but according to the shark rep they are not approved for it. The hub will “dry” the mop pad with air. This feature doesn’t always dry the pad so I’m not entirely impressed with it. The hub will also clean the mop pad and it does keep the pad clean.
Robot Shark RV2820ZE: The robot is a typical round shape like most out there. It has one side brush. The side brush will not work on carpets/rugs. The brush roller has bristles and some sort of flaps (possibly a nylon like material). The brush roller does look basic but don’t let you fool you. This robot works extremely well on carpets, rugs, and hard floors. It excels at picking up dog/cat hair, cat litter(even in between grout/floor lines), and dust/hair bunnies. The robot does have a comb like structure inside that helps detangle hairs from the roller. I’ve only had a little bit of hair wrap; I’ve been surprised with its performance.
Mopping: The mopping action is done with a large mop pad that goes side to side. It does not spin like most other robots. I would consider it less effective than the spinning ones. Having said that it does perform decently enough to maintain our floors. It won’t scrub dried on stains(unless the stain detect activates). The mop pad stays moist with its onboard water tank so it can mop a large area without having to refill. The mop pad is detachable so the robot can leave it at the hub for vacuuming only cleaning. Overall the mopping is slightly above satisfactory.
Features/gimmicks: Like most brands shark does advertise a few features or gimmicks that make their robots special. Active lift will raise the drive wheels/chassis up when it is stuck or needs to cross a large threshold. This feature is extremely useful and actually works. I have a large threshold (1.5”) tall and it crosses it every time. It also helps getting over floor vents and cross room transitions after it has mopped (wheels will lose traction but the lifting up allows it to regain traction). Active lift will also prevent the mop pad from dragging across carpet/rugs. This appears to prevent the robot from vacuuming due to how high it lifts the chassis up.
Edge detect: There is a sensor that detects the edges of the walls. This allows the unit to extend it mop pad over. This works sometimes with mopping but not all the time ( this could be due to my floors having quarter trim pieces and prevent it). However I do have much better success with vacuuming. When vacuuming it will blow a small puff of air to remove small debris/dust and hair bunnies for the edge and corners. I’ve noticed this feature work majority of the time when it clean the edges of the walls.
Dirt detect/stain detect: When the robot vacuums and or mops the unit can detect if areas are extra dirty and concentrate on them. I may have seen it once with mopping but can’t confirm or verify. But when vacuuming the robot will light up purple( the light bar will adjust how much purple is shown based on how much dirt is detected). The unit will drive in a figure 8 pattern to vacuum that area. This does work and is verified in the shark app in the history tab.
App: The shark clean app is lacking many options that other brand like Eufy, roborock, dreame, and narwal have. The app really does hold back their robots. It is also glitchy and sometimes it has issues. Overall I’m not impressed with the app. When mapping with the robot it will do its initial run to create a map. After the map is made and you setup rooms and no go zones. Once you’ve done that it will want to “remap” to detect your carpets and rugs. This is extremely important due to the active lift preventing the vacuum from working when the robot is lifted up on carpets/rugs.
Overall: I’m happy with my purchase. I had managed to get it on sale with extended 3 year warranty for under $550.00. I definitely would not pay full price or anything above $600.00 for it. The other manufacturers provide too much value with their apps/robots to make it worth anything more than that. I cannot stress enough how great it is at vacuuming. It vacuums so good (and due to subpar app customization) that I had to subdivide my living room into 2 sections rugged and hard floors. It picks up so much hair/dirt from the rug that it fills up its canister. Due to app I can only have it auto empty every 30 minutes so this was necessary. Sorry about the rant but I haven’t seen much about this robot on here and wanted to leave a detailed review.
Edit: wanted to update review. The shark clean app has updated to allow scheduling by rooms, but you can only do 2 schedules per day. You can also change the water flow setting to eco for reduced mop pad wetness.
Been using the Shark PowerDetect Cordless Stick Vacuum for a bit and it’s been great for quick daily cleanups with surprisingly strong suction. It’s reliable and feels easy to use and hassle-free.
I recently bought the shark vacuum, and I love everything about it so far however there’s a lot of dirt buildup in this tiny crevice. I had contacted shark customer support and how to clean it and of course there were no help. Any suggestions on how to clean it? Worst case scenario i just return the damn thing but i really enjoy this vacuum.
Other users have reported this same problem and there is no solution, it's a design flaw. I would return this vacuum quickly as Sharks have many other reliability problems.

I have this issue with my Shark Cordless Detect Pro IW3110C. They have a weird compartment inside the dustbin, and all the dust that I have collected on the floor gets trapped inside it. I am unable to clean it because it's attached (glued) to the dustbin itself, lol.
So, I contacted Shark customer service regarding this issue, and they legit told me straight that "yeah, it's the design of the product, and even if we replace your unit, it's still gonna happen. But overall, it's not gonna affect the performance, so we are not able to issue you a refund or exchange, and I really hope you figure out how to clean it before it grows mold." This is the first time I've heard from customer service asking me to figure out something by myself, lol.
Basically, they are telling me that they are aware of the issue but they're not going to fix it for me. I was wondering if anyone in this forum is facing a similar issue and got it resolved?
Just got the new Shark Powerdetect Cordless. Here it is next to the Shark Cordless Detect Pro
Shark needs to work on their naming convention...
We bought the shark detect pro 2 years ago, it used to be quiet. Now it makes this really loud noise when I use it. I’ve changed the filters, checked the rollers, cleaned it out, everything. Anyone have ideas what it could be? 😅
I just purchased a shark detect pro cordless vacuum on 7/20/2024 and it is not charging. I have tried multiple outlets to plug the charger in and I do not see any flashing lights. I left it overnight to charge and the vacuum died within a minute. Any recommendations on what to do or who to contact?
