Thoughts on this awesome Shark deal?
Why are Shark vacuum cleaners so highly rated on various cleaning blogs, vacuum rating sites, etc., but very highly discouraged here and amongst vacuum repair shops?

Shark Navigator XL on sale for $97 so with a 3 year warranty the total is like $120ish. I've been looking for a Shark or Dyson. I have a Dyson Ball but I got it used and I've been using it for about 3 years. Still has great suction but the hose leaves much to be desired because the stick is like 2-3 feet, non-bending etc. So I was considering a Shark with the lift away. I did not want to spend more than $300 and this model for the smaller size is usually $170ish. This one doesn't come with many attachments, but with the money saved I guess I could get some more. Any thoughts are super appreciated as I've noticed not many Shark or Dyson are on the recommendation lists.
It’s daunting trying to find honest reviews and purchase advice for anything these days, vacuum cleaners included. Whenever I look at review sites that list the “top 10 vacuums” or something similar, Shark is always at or near the top of the list. Yet here and on YouTube channels run by vacuum repair people, Shark is always named as one of the worst choices for a vacuum, namely because they are not meant to be repaired.
Is this because Shark pays for good reviews? Even Consumer Reports, whom I generally trust for purchase because they don’t accept advertising money, lists Shark vacuums as more reliable than Sebo and on par with Miele.
Does Shark get good reviews because they work well until they fail? Please help me understand!
