Yes, the main difference is the brushroll. The standard brushroll cleans carpets better. The powerfins might resist hair better but they do not agitate carpets as thoroughly and they can split break more easily. I don't recommend any Shark vacuums because they break quickly, they do not sell individual replacement parts, and their warranty excludes most of the vacuum.
