I have two of these from Costco: https://www.costco.com/shark-matrix-plus-robot-vacuum-with-self-empty-hepa-base.product.4000188076.html For just vacuuming, it does a great job. But it's not perfect. It has zero object detection. Therefore, it will consistently get stuck in the following ways: Random cords on the ground that get caught up in the spinning brush If there are clothes on the ground, it will try to run over them and end up getting stuck if it sucks in the fabric If there are vents near the walls, sometimes it goes over them a bit and then it gets stuck because it detects a cliff and isn't able to get out. Sometimes it will close a door on itself when vacuuming a room and end up getting stuck in that room. This happens probably once a week or more, depending how your house is like. That said, I do like the vacuum overall. But compared to my Dreame L20 Ultra, it's a night and day difference. The app is extremely basic too. You can set a basic schedule and that's it. There's no option to vacuum specific rooms on specific days and vice versa. No option for different settings in different rooms (like high suction in carpet rooms and low suction on hardwood rooms). The app also doesn't show you where the vacuum is on the map when it is running. So when it gets stuck, its up to you to find it. Worst of all, when it's stuck, it will stay on and run itself to dead. Thus forcing you to pick it up and take it back to the dock. The battery does last a decent amount of time, but it does charge slowly. If you're just looking for a cheap, simple robot vacuum that just runs once a day or something, this vacuum will do the job. Just be prepared to get a notification that it got stuck somewhere every now and then. Now something like the Dreame L20 Ultra: Great object detection. It will avoid cables, shoes, socks, etc. Can't remember the last time it got stuck. Couple times my family might close a door to a room that it's vacuuming in and thus it gets stuck. Even then, the Dreame will run to about 10% battery and then shut itself off. So when you get to it, you can turn it on and let it drive itself back to the dock rather than carrying it to the dock yourself. The app has many many many more options and customization. I can have it increase suction automatically when going on carpet, it can vacuum carpets later and do multiple passes vs just one, I can also have different settings per room and vacuum different rooms on different days. Battery also lasts much longer and charges quicker. At your budget of $500, I would get Dreame's L10s Ultra for $360 + tax refurbished off eBay (sold by Dreame's official store). It's not much more than the Shark Vacuum, but it has much more options and objection detection. It also has mopping features in case you ever decide you want to use them. Otherwise, don't even use the mop features and stick to the vacuuming only portion of the vacuum. The UR2360S is the Series 2300 exclusively for Costco. The other models such as UR2350AE for Sam’s Club only $249. RV2300S Walmart version $219 on EBay. The Best Buy version is RV2320S and Amazon version is AV2310AE are more expensive. No matter what model you buy, you are getting the same robot, but different color and size of self empty dust bin only. I have the UR2350AE version because I wish to get a bigger dust bin.
