I have owned and worked on both models and I prefer the newer one on the right. The Rotator Pro was notorious for having the hose split inside the head, something that they actually bothered to fix on the newer Navigator models. The general hose quality of the Navigator is slightly better. The Navigator also has a seemingly slightly better cyclone and a much larger bin. In my home, I found the bin of the Navigator to get stopped up less, obviously hold more debris, and keep the pre-motor filter slightly cleaner. Of course, the single cyclone is still no match for a multi-cyclonic bin like in the Dyson Ball Animal 3, Kenmore 600 Series 22614 canister, or Kenmore CrossOver DU3017, for example. I do not like the foam filters of either machine, though the Navigator has one that I slightly prefer. It is a more simple design that makes more sense to me. I would really like to see them use a cloth filter with a seal, though. Cleaning ability and raw performance numbers are comparable enough between the two that I would not worry about either one. As long as you keep the filters clean and the units are operating normally, they will both get the job done. Their performance on lower pile carpet should be roughly the same. I could get reamed for this, but for something that regularly can be found for under $200 brand new, the Navigators like the one in the picture are not a terrible deal. I find them to be of better quality than comparably priced Hoovers and certain Bissells. They would not be my first choice, but I do think the newer Navigators are the best and safest thing Shark offers. Answer from JohnnyHucky on reddit.com

We bought the Navigator Pet 3xl one you have shown, we absolutely love it! We just needed a decent vacuum for college and to this day that is one of the best upright vacuums I've used over the years. It's very simple, no extra tech or anything, and the self cleaning brush roll really does work! Our roommate at the time had incredibly long hair that would wind around everything, and amazingly that shark didn't care. Even for some strings and stuff from dog toys, after running for a few seconds it would clean the roll every time It actually cleaned out deep carpets surprisingly well, and has a ton of suction. We also used it to help our friends move out of their house they had been in for years. It was a very cramped arrangement so it was nearly impossible to clean in certain areas, add on they had several pets and when we got to those areas under the furniture, it was caked with pet hair and dust. The Shark sucked it all up with ease! I ended up emptying the massive canister like 3 times for the whole place, but the amount it could hold was a great plus. Even after all of that, the filters actually were not as bad as I was expecting, they were fairly clean. All of the original filters cleaned up really well so long as you do it regularly, we only just replaced the filters with a kit off Amazon after like 2-3 years or so. I also have bad allergies and found the sealed HEPA system to actually be true to it's word, it never leaked dust around the exhaust filter or irritated my allergies. It's now about to be 5 years old and has never given us problems. Other than using it to vacuum up diatomaceous earth and immediately clogging the filters (don't unless you need to, use a bagged vacuum for that, long story short that actually saved us several hundred to a thousand dollars due to our neighbors having bed bugs. Gotta love collage). My mom has been using it alongside her Miele when she forgets to order bags. It's not been treated well really, it's fallen and bees dropped countless times, sucked up God knows what, and was used every day for years, double so in the shedding season. People can hate Sharks all they want, but this specific Navigation blew my expectations out of the water! No it's not Miele or Sebo, but I wasn't expecting it to be either. It has been a great machine for us! It was the best option out of maybe one other Hoover at the store at the time, but I decided to say screw it and try it. No regrets on this machine!

r/VacuumCleaners on Reddit: Shark Navigator Swivel Pro Complete Upright Vacuum vs Shark Navigator Pet Pro Upright Vacuum with Self-Cleaning Brushroll
November 5, 2019 -

I am looking to buy a new shark navigator for the building I am a janitor at, currently I am using the (Shark - Navigator Lift-Away NV391 Pro Bag less Upright Vacuum) it had worked great but had been used before i got this job and is about past it's life at this point.

With regards to the vacuums stated in the title, I am aware of the specs such as the Navigator pet pros: larger dust cap capacity, higher watts and amps, 2lbs heavier etc...

But i am wondering if anybody has experience with shark navigators old and current models and if anybody does could you please list some pros and cons right off the bat that you noticed when first using the newer models and also that might not be very evident from the specifications outlined on the sharks website? Thank you

Although it lacks the power amore expensive uprights, the Shark Navigator NV151 is a good budget vacuum. Introduction Considerably cheaper than many of Shark’s upright cleaners, the Shark Navigator Swivel Pro Complete Upright Vacuum NV150 ditches the Lift-away feature to go for a standard design. It’s still comparatively quite powerful, particularly for the price, and is easy to use, but it lacks some of the polish of the more expensive cleaners. Best SharkNinja Vacuum – Shark Navigator vs. Rotator ( NV356E vs. NV642 )
February 8, 2019 - SharkNinja is the first vacuum maker I’ve seen that have this option, and I find it’s actually useful. Swivel steering allows for easy cleaning under furniture. * Both vacuums have swivel steering, which sets them apart from many other manufacturers. It basically allows you to rotate the large body of the vacuum away from the motorized floor nozzle so that you can more easily get under furniture and beds.
