Edit: talked to somebody at Shark and I basically have to remove the plastic body from the vacuum to get the thing out.
Hello!
I have two Shark vacuums and the hoses are shot on one (NV211L), and the other doesn't turn on (NV42). I'm trying to take the lower hose assembly off of the NV42 and put them on the NV211L, but I can't figure out how to remove them from either vacuum.
I've looked up a couple videos of people removing this part, but it seems that their part has visible clips you can just squeeze in and use to unclip the hose. I don't see that on mine. I removed the screws on either side of the part that goes into the vacuum, though I think they're part of holding the outer plastic case onto the vacuum.
I have found what I believe is this part on eBay and it does seem that the part that goes into the vacuum has some clip that might be inside the actual vacuum body.
Is there an easy way to get this thing off, or do I have to take the entire side of the vacuum off to get to it?
I got this image off eBay. I think it's the part I have on my vacuum. It looks like it has little clips - I can't actually see these on the ones on my vacuum and think maybe they're internal? I don't know.
Side view of my vacuum. I'm trying to remove the part that has the hose with the duct tape.
The hose assembly I'm trying to remove. The gray plastic part needs to detach from the purple part. I've removed the two screws here and that does nothing.
