I replaced this hose recently on mine. I was unable to find anywhere online a replacement hose that explicitely stated my exact model of vacuum. Here is what I bought from the Walmart website without knowing for sure if it would fit, as it was for different models of shark vacuum cleaners. Here is the description: “Lower Nozzle Hose for Shark Rotator Vacuum Cleaner NV341 NV501 UV560” I have the Shark Rotator Powered Lift-away NV755 (Best buy model). This hose worked perfectly. It’s important that the direction of the spiral is the same. If the spiral on this hose was the thread on a bolt, it would be a left-hand thread. I followed the very good directions on this website for headlight replacement to step 7 to locate all of the screws that needed to be removed. I would only add that on mine, one of the two screws circled in yellow located beneath the beater brush cover was a T20 torx security bit. not to be confuse with the smaller regular torx hidden under the gasket. I wasted time thinking I had to dismantle the assembly that held the upper end of the hose; I couldn’t figure it out. But, all one needs to do is remove the hose receiver from the end nearest the headlights which just pulls out. then unscrew the hose from it by rotating it clockwise(like a left-hand thread). You will feel the soft factory glue give way slowly as you start unscrewing it. For the other end, since my old hose was already split in two or three sections, I just pulled the spiral and let it unravel all the way out from the handle end. I then just screwed the new hose back into the handle end first and screwed the hose receiver back onto the front end. I had some difficulty getting the hose receiver seated correctly as it took me a couple of times. If you can’t close and lock the hinged beater-bar cover then it’s not seated all the down correctly. I wished I had checked this before I started putting my screws back in. The suction is so much better now, it’s difficult to push. Good luck. Answer from James Collins on ifixit.com

Universal Replacement Hose for Shark Vacuum? - DoItYourself.com Community Forums
I've already shortened the hose ... easy to replace only the hose. Does anyone know of a universal hose that will work with the Shark Navigators? I know places like McMaster sell the spiral PVC hoses by the foot, so I could take my chances and order something in hopes it will fit. The OD looks to be 1-5/8". But, if someone has a good source on a hose that for sure will work please let me know! Thanks! ... If you went with 1-1/2" vacuum cleaner ... More on doityourself.com

Trying to remove the lower hose assembly from a Shark Navigator vacuum (models NV42 and NV211L) and I can't figure it out.
The free end of the hose (spiral coil) acts like a screw. There are threads in the plastic housing where it attaches to the vacuum. You remove the old hose by twisting counter-clockwise (after taking the other end off vacuum head). Depending on how old it is, it might start coming apart, but just keep going until it's completely out of the housing. Then "screw" the new hose in by twisting clockwise. It's a little tricky to get started, but once you do, it should go in pretty smoothly. More on reddit.com

I need to find some sort of directions how to detach the upper hose docking port from a Shark Rotator NV255 (two-five-five, not typing it wrong) hose. The hose has split almost entirely from it, so I'd like to detach it from the piece that docks to the base, trim the tear, and reattach to give this thing a few more months of life until I can afford to buy a replacement. Buying a replacement hose handle is also not a viable option as any ones that are listed as compatible with the NV255 are expensive enough I'm halfway to a new vaccum at that point.

Every tutorial I can find is either referring to disassembling just the top handle, or the docking piece is from a different model that is a different shape than mine.

Parts for this NV255 has been a nightmare, it seems to be one of those less common models manufactured for Walmart/Sam's. If there is a different model that has compatible parts, I'd love to know. Any advice you can offer would be appreciated.

November 4, 2024 - The smaller part that broke and is still in vacuum might be able to twist out, sometimes those ports are threaded, try twisting it out and twisting the longer portion in. ... I did this with my mom's Bissell after she had duct taped it multiple times. Definitely was a better fix, since the duct tape isn't stretchy like the hose is. Plus, all kinds of fur and things got stuck in the tape. Continue this thread ... Try Amazon and eBay for a cheap replacement, I have had good luck with them so far!
