My recommendation is to go with wool, and that you need do some research to understand what you really need. Wool keeps you warmer(generally) than the alternatives, lasts longer, and is deceptively light for the warmth it can carry. I have a vardag Sherpa thing from fjallraven, 200 usd, not a hoodie but dumb warm. Check out the r1/r2 Patagonia tech jacket. That shill keep you warm. I wear my R1 as a base layer in PNW winter, and most of the time that is sufficient, no other shirt or jacket, and comfortable til about 15-20 degrees f More on reddit.com

Norwegian people wear wool in layers. Wool undergarments. Wool sweaters. Wool neck and chest protectors. Wool pants. And wool socks. The warmest of the warm is real fur on the inside of your coat and over mittens. Fur-lined funnel hats/hoods create a micro climate around your face. See Alaskans in Winter. Just looking for a very warm zip up hoodie with some type of lining for warmth, whether it be Sherpa, faux fur, etc. preferably great quality and/or warmest. I been eyeing one on Lands end but thought I would get a few more suggestions before pulling the trigger. I have a few Carhartt hoodies already so I was hoping to look at other brands. I also had one from Buffalo that was great back in the day that was fake fur lined I loved, might look into those again too.
