June 11, 2023 - my experience with urethane enamels is basically what you stated here. my last two jobs i thinned and sprayed and the result was great. by hand you gotta work fast as hell but it dries hard as a rock ... I painted in a past life too but finding out this this stuff requires a high level of skill for good results. It may be "the best paint on the market for trim" but not a casual/DIY product. See every other thread on reddit about Emerald Urethane, so many work marks.

I'm not a guy who sprays much, so I've never thinned or used different filters when spraying trim or doors. March 20, 2024 - The paint does not require any type of sealer because of the built-in urethane. It does smell a bit and I like to paint in the garage with this one. The surface should be prepped first to make sure it is smooth and clean. It doesn’t require a primer and I typically use two to three coats for a perfect finish. It takes a few days to cure and I would give it even longer before placing anything heavy on it. Once it has dried, the finish is hard as a rock. It is the perfect paint for trim, furniture and kitchen cabinets (I used it on my kitchen cabinets in my house in Secretary).

... I usually avoid Sherwin-Williams ... you need to brush and roll interior trim/ doors, lays down like Advance without the 16-hour re-coat time....

November 10, 2022 - The downside is we were outside and as the wind blew, shmutz blew onto our cabinet fronts. We did a total of 3 coats of the Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel (4 hours dry time between coats), and the last coat we ended up painting in our garage so we wound’t get said shmutz stuck on there for our final coat.

April 1, 2021 - This Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel paint is exceptional quality. It really does level out and smooth as it dries! The modern trend is Satin on trim. you can get emerald on the walls. I personally do ceiling, trim, mask the base and roll the walls, but doing doing walls, then trim is fine too.
