Really depends on the reason(s) you’ve “had enough of Shopify”. There’s not really a better alternative for e-commerce out there, in my opinion. If I absolutely had to change platforms, I would go with Wordpress/WooCommerce but I wouldn’t look forward to it.

As someone who has worked with business websites that transitioned to online sales, I have one warning for you. DO NOT try to manage your own payment processing. Once you start touching credit card info you will need to be super hardcore about security to meet all the requirements. It's not worth it, even for reasonably large organizations.
Whatever you choose, make sure it supports one or more third party payment processing services. Check their reviews and factor in the transaction fees when choosing what types of payments to accept.

Every store I’ve dabbled in I’ve relied on Shopify and it feels like most other people do too.
Would you guys say there are any benefits using anything else or is it best to just rely on Shopify forever?

If I had known what I know now, I would've at least dipped my toes into WooCommerce. It's just more flexible and allows for the largest variety of payment processors. I started 5 years ago with SquareSpace because it was so easy to build a site, but you're locked into literally 2 payment processors: PayPal and Stripe. If you end up with too many disputes and they decide to drop you, it's game over. By all means start with something simple and easy, but don't get TOO comfortable before trying WooCommerce. After 5 years, I find myself constantly worried that a payment processor may drop me, but also simultaneously too complacent to redesign everything from the ground up on WooCommerce.

So trying to start a business in the middle of finishing my bachelor in social work and being 7 months pregnant has turned out to not quite be the right timing. I just have to focus on other things right now, and my business is nooooooot profitable at allllllll. That’s almost an understatement.
My website can be found at thecheekycabbage.com if anyone wants to glance at it. I think it looks alright, but doing Shopify is just kind of a money hole when no one is ordering anything.
Any suggestions on where I can move my online shop until I have more time to work on advertising on social media and stuff? A place that isn’t going to cost 40-60 per month due to apps and the cost of the platform period?

I recommend you to take the following actions: Change your Shopify store to the Pause and Build plan: "When you use the Pause and Build plan, your store continues to run at a reduced cost of $9 USD per month.". Work on doing free marketing, such as creating a presence on Instagram etc. Put something in your bio like "Store opening soon at ...". Save some money (like $500) for marketing and make a marketing plan When you are able to commit to marketing, open your store again.
