May 20, 2021 - Google will partner with e-commerce platform Shopify, the internet giant announced Tuesday.

Google launched Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) (formerly Google Container Engine) as we had just finished production-hardening Docker. In 2014, Shopify invested in Docker to capitalize on the benefits of immutable infrastructure: predictable, repeatable builds and deployments; simpler and more robust rollbacks; and elimination of configuration management drift.
