I’m doing cold email campaigns for my startup faqpopup. It’s not a shopify store but I’ll share some patterns. Maybe it will spark some ideas for you as well. As a generic rule I always seen much better results with emails where I provide some value for the custumer. Try to give a free version of something, discounts, information, a video tutorial etc… The other one is personalization: make the email feel like a real person wrote it directly for them. I saw very low conversions with typical marketing emails. Answer from riookoo on reddit.com

Question about Shop advertising.
Shop Ads - they start strong, then they die. Happens every time. First week? Explosive. Best audience, easy sales. Second week? Dead. Crickets. Shopify pulls back. Why? They burn through your best buyers fast. First week, they show your ad to the people most likely to buy. Then? Nothing. Ad fatigue. If you’re running the same creative, it gets old—fast. Your ROAS cap is choking delivery. A 2.25 ROAS limit? Might be too strict. Shopify won’t push your ad if it thinks it can’t hit the goal. Shopify throttles ads. They do it. It’s not random. They want control over spend pacing. This is how I manage it: New creatives. Even small changes keep engagement alive. Testing a lower ROAS cap. Open it up, see if Shopify starts pushing again. Restart the campaign. Sometimes, a reset kicks the algo back into action. Right now, Shopify Shop Ads are unpredictable. Winners adapt, losers wait. Your move. More on reddit.com
Shop Ad Campaigns.
IMHO shopify ads are a farce. They force you to set a CPA and ROAS within their constraints based on AOV. From what we've seen, the maximum ROAS that can be set is 2.5x which is laughable, and every other channel at its worst outperformsa 2x. Their minimum CPA for us was approx 80% of AOV, which makes absolutely no sense. Shopify Shop ads is a complete failure and only benefits shopify. It's a slap in the face to merchants who use shopify plus and spend tens of thousands in platform fees annually already. I hope they rework it. More on reddit.com
What is the best campaign set up and strategy for Shopify store?
You could try to see what works best with your audience between video, still image or carousel ad. If you know how much your average customer spends in a year you can take that number MINUS the cost of the product(s) MINUS the profit you want to make. The final number is how much you want to pay for conversion. Set that as your Cost Per Result Goal if you do purchase conversions as a goal. More on reddit.com

Go for Klaviyo if possible. They are almost near native integration with shopify. If you are new merchant, you can just take free Klaviyo courses to learn how to grow your email database and set up the flow automation, then when you have a few hundred emails you can start with email campaign. Always do AB test for everything and email marketing is more for lifestyle retention strategy, you need to have a good acquisition marketing strategy for maximum result I think. our own shopify store's klaviyo email revenue attribution is 50% to 60% of the GMV. it's amazing once you make it work but takes time to test all the hypothesis.

r/shopify on Reddit: Question about Shop advertising.
March 10, 2025 -
Just ran my first Shop advertising campaign two weeks ago and the first week was amazing. We received 20+ orders from first time customers in 6 days which is great for our store and had a ROAS of 2.68.
The following week it went completely dead and there were zero orders from the campaign.
Does anyone have any personal experience with this advertising method? Was my ROAS set too high (2.25), or does Shop suppress your ads after a certain amount of sales?
Any feedback or thoughts is appreciated. It felt too easy that first week but since I didn't change anything I'm at a loss for why it stopped converting so suddenly.
