Depending on how many products you have & complexity of the site (going headless, etc) it might make sense to outsource it to a partner. However, if you already have a store, it´s just like upgrading your plan. The only notable differences I’m the backend is the b2b area as well as ways to customize checkouts, etc. I recently upgraded to Shopify+ and am on the platform for several years now - unless it is really complex, I would always do it myself. There are more than enough videos & blogs about it.If you need a timehack, outsource it.

(I am a Shopify (and other tech stack) agency employee (and former agency owner)). I've worked on themes/headless installs and ongoing work for sites that have spent from $50k to prob +$2M over a year, some doing between $25M and $300M in sales. There's almost never a reason to pay for an expert to go from not using Plus to using Plus -- i.e. just 'turning Plus on'. There are many, many great reasons to pay to migrate a big, complicated ecommerce experience from another product in to plus. Or to pay that amount in ongoing development support over time, easily. Or, if you're a venture-backed or high prestige D2C brand, there's many reasons to pay for an expensive design and brand application in to ecommerce. So... it all depends on the situation?
