Hi, I have a 6700k and I want to know what is the "SYNC ALL CORES" option? and blocking the TURBO BOOST all the time? Do you really earn something? THANK YOU
Hello all.
I've got an old 4770k that I'm desperately trying to keep relevant.
I can manage a stable 4.3ghz OC on all cores, but it runs toastier than I'd like under load.
But if I run 2 at 4.3ghz and 2 at 4.2ghz, I see a drop in temperatures, albeit small.
I mainly use the PC for browsing, watching & light gaming. But the games I play (Guild Wars 2) are heavily CPU reliant on single cores and don't take advantage of multicore CPUs.
My questions are: Is it better to sync all cores or use a big/little approach to speeds?
And
My CPU is permanently at 4.3ghz, I've heard there's a setting that allows it to throttle back down when not in use, should I enable that? (Asus H81 board)
Will that have any impact on temperatures & longevity?
Thanks!
I have an 8700k that hits 4.9 ghz at 1.31 volts. I can't get a higher overclock without hitting really high temps or failing (delidding kit doesn't arrive for another week).
I mainly use my pc for gaming and understand that most games use 3-4 cores. I was thinking about using per core and trying to get the first few cores at a higher clock rate.
I haven't heard of any downsides to per core overclocking, but I've never really heard anyone talk about it.
Are there any downsides to what I want to do? Any tips?
