Why should I transfer my domain to Google Workspace?
Transferring your domain to Google Workspace consolidates your domain management and offers seamless integration with Google’s suite of productivity tools. This includes professional email services, collaborative document sharing, and a unified platform for efficient business communication.
Do I need an authorization code to transfer my domain to Google Workspace?
In some cases, yes. An authorization code is often required to initiate the domain transfer process. You can obtain this code from your current registrar’s control panel. It adds an extra layer of security and ensures that only authorized individuals or entities can transfer the domain.
How long does it take to transfer a domain to Google Workspace?
The domain transfer process may take several days. After initiating the transfer and completing the authorization, Google communicates with your current registrar to finalize the transfer. The exact duration can vary, and notifications from both Google and your current registrar will provide updates on the transfer status.
domain.com is currently held at HostMonster
Google Workspace was setup months ago with domain.com and verified through HostMonster with TXT info
I now want to transfer the domain.com ownership to Google so I can shut down my HostMonster account.
Google workspace isn’t showing an option to transfer a domain, just add a new domain. But the domain.com is already listed there as verified through Google Workspace
I've been using google domains for the last 5 or so years and been relatively happy. I was previously using godaddy which was...fine, I guess? I don't want to go to squarespace since it seems bad, but I have no idea who's a decent registrar these days. Who should I transfer to?
Important context: I have 18 domains. Most are com/net/org, but I also have a couple .io and one .in. I also host my own DNS for one domain (and need to keeping doing that for reasons).
If you were wondering why the world suddenly became slightly better just now, it was because of me taking business away from GoDaddy.
The transition was absolutely seamless. The whole thing was done in 15 minutes.
All DNS records moved automatically, website works, emails undisturbed, easy.
I've been with Google Domains since it started. I usually recommend them.
Friends don't let friends GoDaddy.
