I'm gutting and remodeling one of our bathrooms and am trying to do most of the work properly myself. It's a slow but rewarding process so far. I'm having a plumber friend check my work from time to time. I'm shopping for a bathtub faucet/shower and valve. My budget is around$350, and I'd like quality a shower head with a handheld option. Thanks for the advice.

I would do the moen positemp. Moen was the best customer service out there. And if you look on Amazon warehouse you can usually find everything for a pretty good deal.

Delta or Kohler. If you’re doing a showerhead, handshower, and tub spout, you’re not going to find it all in one box, you’ll have to piece it together. For Delta, there are two ways to do this. The easiest way is to get a T17 series tub and shower trim with a 2in1 showerhead. Something like this with an R10000 shower valve. The nicer way is to piece together a tub/shower trim with a separate handshower and diverter. You’ll need a tub/shower trim (T14 or T17 series, which will include the valve trim, showerhead, and tub spout with diverter) with valve (R10000), your handshower, holder, shower ell, and hose, and a 3 setting diverter trim and valve (R11000). When you turn on the water, it’ll come from the tub spout. Once you pull up on the tub spout diverter, the water will then go through the wall mount diverter and to either the showerhead, handshower, or both. Using the same collection as above, here’s what you’ll need: T14 series tub/shower trim R10000 Shower Valve 3 Function Diverter R11000 Diverter Valve Handshower Shower Ell You can do the same thing with the Kohler K-8304 Valve and 8304 valve trim with K-728 diverter valve.
