How do you know if your meds are working properly? Is it just dependant on your levels?
For me I can tell my meds are working because my symptoms are greatly improved. I’ve got more of a “fuck my levels” attitude because I’m more interested in how I feel. Obviously I care about the health implications if I swing one way or the other but I know I’m pretty sensitive cause I can tell by my symptoms roughly where my levels are at. After 3 months, I sleep normal hours, my energy levels are closer to a normal person’s, I no longer ache from head to toe from the minute I wake up every day. So, the pills are doing their job as far as I’m concerned. If you tend not to have experienced much in the way of symptoms, as some people don’t, then yes you’re depending entirely on your levels. I have to take 2 pills to make up my dose (a 100mcg and a 25mcg) and they are both different brands. Honestly don’t know anything about how different brands affect me cause I haven’t noticed any adverse reactions. More on reddit.com

Will I notice an immediate difference with medication?
The levothyroxine will start to work immediately, but it may take several weeks for your symptoms to improve. That being said, levothyroxine isn’t a medication that is new to your body. It’s a synthetic hormone replacement for thyroxine, a hormone that our thyroid (people with hypothyroidism) isn’t producing well. It’s hormone replacement therapy to aid the thyroid. Taking your levothyroxine is easy and well worth it! Good luck! More on reddit.com

Which fruits aren’t good for the thyroid?
Fruits are an essential part of a balanced diet. But citrus fruits — like grapefruit — may interfere with your thyroid replacement medication. Some research shows that grapefruit juice may make your levothyroxine less effective. However, the effect seems to be very small. To be on the safe side, let your prescriber know if you consume a lot of grapefruit.
