We bought the Simmons 8" memory foam full-sized mattress last month for our kid. He loves it. I laid on it a couple times when we first set it up, and it sort of reminds me of our Tempurpedic.

My 12 year old son needs a new mattress. His biggest complaint is his current mattress is “too hard” and it wasn’t a super firm mattress.
Does the gel help not make it ridiculously hot? I’m not expecting it to be cold but as long as it’s not stupid warm.

Just my 2 cents, but if you get a memory foam topper you can keep using your existing mattress and box spring. Some people really like the toppers, I know I do. And they are much cheaper than buying a whole mattress.
