What is the best and most reliable mattress brand?
Of the three big S brands I like Simmons the most. I like Sealy the next most, and Serta the least. But those are just my personal preferences. I'm sure some of the other people here have a different ranking (which I'd like to hear, along with their reasons.) A vast majority of online reviews about mattresses are going to be negative. Unhappy people are much more likely to take the time to post online than those that are satisfied. Simmons World Class is a very high end innerspring mattress, and you don't have to be particularly worried about it dipping and sagging. Every mattress (especially king size) should receive some care and attention when they're first breaking in to reduce body impressions. The Simmons beds don't need any more or less attention in this area. The great thing is that you will have a warranty for at least 10 years if you buy a new mattress. If you get any dips or sags deeper than 1.5" then they'll replace the bed (just make sure you don't get any stains on it, and you keep it supported correctly.) Manufacturing issues often rear their head within the first year or so. It is always the hope that there are never any issues with your bed. But the warranty is there to protect you in case you get one that does have an issue. edit: I wanted to add that my overall preference is for Tempurpedic. I suggest going back another day, when your back does not hurt at all, at a non-peak shopping time, and laying on the one you like for at least 10-min. If possible, bring a friend and wear a top that can be pulled tight against your back so that your spinal bulge is visible, and ask your friend to see if it looks like your spine is in a neutral position.

Went to sleep country today and ended up liking the Simmons BeautY Rest Trilliant 35. I don’t know much about mattresses but know we want something medium-firm and not memory foam (hate our Endy).
This mattress was not cheap (2700 CDN). They mentioned it’s a brand new model and isn’t on their website yet. Anyone have any advice? My original budget was 1500-2000.

Today my boyfriend and I went into a Dormez-Vous (QC version of Sleep Country) and purchased the Beautyrest Trilliant 40 for $1,800 + tax after some negotiating. The saleswoman was informative but somewhat pushy and she saw we were hesitating because of the price tag. We were in the store for about an hour laying on the bed for most of that time and we really do like the mattress. It’s unfortunate that it’s exclusive to those two stores and we can’t search for other price comparisons and reviews but we took the chance and are hopeful it’ll be the right mattress for us but only time will tell !

35 years later, the mattress is still like new and I have slept on it almost every day and every year since I bought it. The box spring is also holding up but my cats have torn the protective fabric from the bottom, so I will probably get a new box spring at some point. I now use a 3 inch foam mattress topper on my Simmons Maxipedic and it is so soft and comfortable.

New mattress shopper here and I am looking to buy a Simmons Beautyrest mattress, preferably the "World Class" line (James Bay). Tried it out in store and seemed to be the best for my budget.
Have read comments and reviews which say they tend to start sagging after 6 months to a year later. Is Simmons not the way to go? How are Sealy and Serta?

Thank you so much for the info! Your comments were very helpful. So basically you are in the clear if you have owned your mattress for a year without any problems. I also understand Store's asking price for said mattress is always going to be super high and a customer should start negotiations at 50% of their asking price. Let the haggling begin!
