June 25, 2025 -

Hi everyone! I was wondering if any of you know any good resources where you can get daily updates on New Grad 2026 SWE postings ?

I remember there used to be some repositories by Simplify and others for internships and New Grad 2025, but can’t really find anything for New Grad 2026, but I believe that recruiting cycle is about to start

I have also tried using Simplify too, but looks like there is almost no new grad jobs for 2026

Thank you!

r/SoftwareEngineerJobs on Reddit: 10 months into my 2026 new grad search and i’m starting to think “just keep applying” is bad advice
March 17, 2026 -

i’m a computer engineering student wrapping up an internship at a name-brand company, and ive been applying to new grad/junior swe roles for like 10 months now. did the standard stuff too, cleaned up my resume, built projects, grinded leetcode, tailored apps when i had the bandwidth, messaged recruiters, kept linkedin alive, all that, and it still feels like im firing applications into drywall

what bugs me most is how the advice never changes. its always “numbers game” even when the market is obviously weird rn, and i can handle rejection, thats not even the part that gets me, its the ghosting, reposted listings, 4-6 round interview loops for entry level jobs, and job posts taht read like they want a mid-level engineer who will work for junior pay. after a while “just apply more” starts sounding detached from actual conditions

im not saying effort doesnt matter, it does, but i do think alot of us at the junior end are getting handed advice from a different hiring era and people keep repeating it because every thread about this is the same. maybe that worked a few years ago, i dont think it maps cleanly to 2025-2026

if youre in this search too, what has actually moved the needle for you? because blind application volume has been one of the least useful parts of this process for me

r/cscareerquestions on Reddit: Advice for a New Grad (2026)
December 22, 2025 -

Wassup y’all,

I’m graduating this upcoming Spring semester and have been applying to new grad roles. I’ve gotten a few online assessments and interviews, which I’m taking as a good sign so far.

This past summer I had an internship in a cloud-focused role, and I also have a military background. My main concern right now is direction. I’m not the strongest programmer, and I know I need to keep improving my coding skills, but a lot of the roles I’m seeing aren’t really labeled as “cloud developer” positions.

So I’m trying to figure out:

•	Should I be focusing more on SWE fundamentals and coding interview prep?

•	Should I be targeting cloud support / DevOps / platform roles instead?

•	Or is it better to lean into the cloud + security + military background combo?

For anyone who’s been in a similar spot:

•	What did you focus on right before graduating?

•	Any advice on how to position myself for new grad roles when my strength is cloud rather than pure SWE?

Appreciate any insight 🙏

(Yes I used a chatbot to write this, my thoughts were all over the place lmao)

What are you graduating in? Comp sci? Is there a reason you’re targeting cloud-support roles over swe? Generally you should shoot for swe, because you’ll still need the cloud knowledge anyways, but having the coding skills will make you more competitive for all kinds of IT roles too. I’m not sure what you mean by lean into the “cloud plus military plus security” combo. Do you have security clearance?

Should I be focusing more on SWE fundamentals and coding interview prep? Probably. I was a devops engineer as my first internship funny enough. Anyways, a cloud engineer interview will still be a SWE focused interview. It's not like a cloud engineer doesn't need to know SWE concepts... Should I be targeting cloud support / DevOps / platform roles instead? Target what you want, but I'd recommend staying flexible so early in your career. Or is it better to lean into the cloud + security + military background combo? Easier to get a cleared role in your case so I'd personally target that imo. What did you focus on right before graduating? Getting out of Platinum in League of Legends. Also passing interviews, but primarily that first one. Any advice on how to position myself for new grad roles when my strength is cloud rather than pure SWE? Your strength is cloud? What does that even mean lmfao? Give me a better picture of what that means to you, if you'd be willing to I mean. Overall it sounds like you'll be fine lmao. Good luck on the hunt bud.

r/cscareerquestions on Reddit: Simplify's internship repo is actually making it more difficult to get an internship
October 31, 2023 -

While Simplify has made an incredible tool for autofilling applications across multiple platforms, they've also made a repo dedicated for sharing internship openings. As helpful as this is, the repo is currently sitting at 25k stars, which I think is now doing more harm than good.

Imagine finding a SWE internship that's a perfect fit for your skills and coursework, and it's in a domain you love. It was posted a few hours ago, not many people have applied. However, you're not from a top school, and you don't have previous internships. You craft the perfect resume matching everything to the job description and write a cover letter. A few days later, it appears on the Simplify repo, and it receives thousands of applicants, adding competitive noise between your application and the recruiter, therefore reducing the probability of your application being seen.

Without the publicity, sure, the internship would have received hundreds of applicants, maybe a bit over 1k. But won't increasing visibility to a five-figure audience full of people hungry for internships produce an over-saturated applicant pool?

which I think is now doing more harm than good. so if I'm reading your post correctly, you're saying "how dare that website makes company XYZ's internship posting more visible, thus more people will apply, thus adding more competition to me" I... don't know what to say... git gud? I mean I get where you're coming from: you're secretly thinking "gee, if it wasn't added on that repo I might only be facing 100 candidates, now I have to face probably 2000 candidates" so again I'd say well... too bad, "more harm than good" to you may be true but definitely untrue for the rest 2000 people who would probably have not applied if it wasn't added on the repo edit to add: let me flip it around, if you're the latter category, if you're one of the "rest 2000 people" who benefited, you wouldn't be making this post in the first place, right?

Hey! I'm one of the founders of Simplify: I thought I'd jump in here and clarify why we started Simplify in the first place. Traditional hiring is broken. What you've described, is how positions have historically been "gatekept" from emerging talent in this space. Companies who don't have access to wide talent networks promote referrals and hire from alumni networks (or from nepotism), which continues to promote the homogeneity of tech. Before Simplify, these internship and new grad lists all existed - they were just shared privately amongst clubs or friends. There used to be an entire "private" recruiting cycle where it was truly only ifykyk. There are a lot of things companies factor when they are discovering candidates: how early they applied or where they found it from, shouldn't matter. Instead, companies (ideally) should spend time focusing on culture and job fit. One of our goals with Simplify was to democratize career growth. We feel like we've made good progress on leveling the playing field with our Copilot application and our job boards. We're now cooking up something great for companies and candidates to completely eliminate the application process altogether. More on that soon.

r/csMajors on Reddit: [AMA] I’m Rushil, founder of Simplify, here to answer questions about how to get a tech job in 2023
February 24, 2023 -

Hi everyone! I’m excited to host an AMA here, thanks to the mod team for the help! My name is Rushil, and I am the founder of Simplify. I started Simplify while I was a CS student at Berkeley to address the problems I experienced in the recruiting space, and to help students and professionals navigate the unnecessarily-complex process of finding a job/internship.

Over the past year, I’ve helped hundreds of students and new grads find their dream job through career advice and mentorship, as well as critiquing resumes, cover letters, and portfolios. Being in the recruiting space for the last couple years, I work with a lot of recruiters and get to see things from both sides of the aisle.

I am excited to answer your questions about job searching, navigating this recession as a college student, and anything else related to Simplify, computer science or the tech industry. I'm making this post today to collect questions, and will be answering them tomorrow, February 23rd, from 10AM PST to 6:30 PST! Let's get started!

Edit: I'm answering questions now! Feel free to continue posting new questions and I'll get to them :)

Edit 2: Thanks for all the questions everyone, I hope this was helpful! Feel free to continue to ask questions, and I'll try coming back to this post tomorrow as well. Best of luck everyone, I'm rooting for you all!
