I’m a young-millennial teacher and just left the high school I was working at. My 10th grade students made me a card where they said their farewells and what not. One student wrote the above phrase, and initially I thought it was just a string of nonsense, but the internet has led me to believe that some of these words have meaning.
Is this some coded Gen Z message?

Today was slang decoding day with my daughter. Apparently, kids are mastering the art of creative insults! It makes me think sad apocalyptic thoughts when I see what social media is reducing us too. I can’t believe I was coaching her to call a kid beta if they tell her she isn’t sigma. (I know there was a better parenting move here, but I’m so sick of these little nugget brains being mean to her!)
I'm just done with it all – the drama, the kids, and (let's be real) most of the parents. Except for a few cool ones, of course. This is only third grade. How will I make it to high school when things actually matter?!
TLDR: kids are using Gen Alpha slang to bully our daughter.
Edit: Skibidi Ohio Riz - the worst insult possible. Means super weird.
Second edit: our girl’s been a target for bullies since preschool (bright, creative and ADHD). She’s actually developed a great attitude, and has a lot of support outside of us, but sometimes she still comes home downcast and crying. When we look up words and come up with comebacks, we joke around and it makes her laugh. It helps her feel empowered because now at least she understands what they’re saying. The likelihood she’ll remember and use it is small. She’s been walking around the house trying out the slang on me, that’s fine!
She just started listening to Billy Eilish and Taylor Swift this year. She has no idea what a Stanley thermos is and I sure don’t care. She doesn’t play video games and likes a lot of things that make her seem younger. I like that about her. I want her to be a child without pressure or a timeline. We’re just helping her smooth the gap, laugh and let all the mean stuff go. And I have to remind myself not to be mad or bitter about the kids, because we’ve done everything we can with parents, teachers and principals.
I really feel like I'm pushing the boundaries of this subreddit's namesake, but after seeing and hearing these noises as many times as I now have, I thought I'd try and find out what they mean.
A student asked me if I knew what that means and I don’t know what it means as a complete sentence.
Maybe this has already been a thing for a while, and I’m just uneducated, but yeah I’m pretty stumped. I’m 28 years old and I think I I’m starting to feel how the Boomers did. Heard this term today from a coworker and didn’t believe it till now. I can’t keep up anymore.
Rizz is used by younger gen z
Ohio is a gen z meme
and Skibidi Toilet (the animation skibidi is taken from) is made by a gen z animator.
We may not use some of them but we created them.
