The series follows a plot about the Skibidi Toilets taking over the world and men with cameras for heads known as CameraHeads fighting against them. The first episode was uploaded as a YouTube Short in February 2023 and inspired more episodes over the following months, each gaining tens of millions of views. The series became a popular subject of memes, inspiring fan art and videos and other content on sites including YouTube, Twitter and TikTok. If it makes no sense to you, try explaining Strongbad to Boomers. That's roughly the equivalent of Gen Z/Gen Alpha explaining Skibidi Toilet to Millennials. It's a goofy meme series that's absurd. FWIW, my 9 year old was super impressed and excited that I knew about it, haha!

Answer: There's not much going on here. It's the same stuff the internet has been pumping out for decades. Someone made a video/meme and now everyone is doing it. If you want to "know what it means" then you're already looking too deep for meaning that isn't there. If you watch even a couple videos, you'll see that it's just a basic plot of toilet people trying to take over VS camera people trying to stop them. There isn't much more you need to know unless it's somehow important to you, then there's a bit of goofy "lore" they made up about it.

Honestly when most of us Millennials were hitting our stride in our early 20s in the pop-culture scene on the internet in the late 00's, the deranged Source-engine animations made with stuff like Garry's Mod, Source Filmmaker, etc etc were part and parcel of millennial culture. Creators like CrashMaul, Eltorro64Rus, etc etc were VERY MUCH part of and catering to the millenial generation. DaFuq!?Boom! just seemed like a later arrival to that scene, coming on about half a decade into it back in 2013. At first when I saw the skibidi toilet stuff on store shelves and was scratching my head thinking huh those look like Source Engine faces in those toilets, then I looked up the creator and it was like "Oh hey so all that wacky Source Engine stuff us millenials used to be into actually went mainstream, neat." most people claim that "Skibidi Toilet" is a Gen Alpha meme. however, if I take the Gen Alpha range from 2013-2024/25. Alphas aren't even teenagers, nor are preteens yet. unless this is meant for Zalphas like 2009/2010-2014 (for example)

Even if Gen Alpha is that young, that kind of content would be much more appealing to them than to 00s babies or Gen Z. I don’t see how an 18 year old could be the prime demographic audience for silly toilet humor skits, while a typical Gen Alpha around 5 years old (a kid much more likely to enjoy that than an 18 year old for sure). Calling Skibidi Toilet Gen Z culture/ memes would be like calling Millennials the Minecraft generation, both of which are so off putting as the group you’re talking about are young adults or older teenagers at the time of said cultural phenomenon blowing up among children specifically.
