How can I upgrade the "Upgradable" Generators in Simple Generators? I feel like they could generate more energy if i Upgrade them but i don't get how.
I just made my automatic lava generator, and I want to start using lava for power. I'm using simple generators geothermal generators, but I wan to know what upgrades can be put into the upgradable version of the generator. I can't find anything in JEI that seems like it would go in. If its locked behind a prestige upgrade, what upgrade is it?
Why is it recommended to upgrade to higher-tier cobblestone generators?
What materials are needed to build a combustion generator?
What are the primary components needed for the geothermal generator setup?
Hey people, just wondering if anyone has any tips for power generation in sky factory 4. I’m currently running a Simulation chamber, with a a Generator that burns coal (integrated dynamics) and an Upgradable Combustion Generator(simple generators) with a solar panel on top and it constantly tells me that the energy levels are critical and I’m not producing enough power. Just curious to see if I’m being an idiot and using low tier generators or if this is an issue for others. I have plenty of Osmium and other Fairly late game materials, so anything that’s better would be great.
The simple generators are a good early game RF source but once you get more advanced, use the nuclear reactors or solar panels.
Fully upgrade at least 9 culinary gens with speed modifiers then build a massive pig farm (With a spawner you can craft) using mob mashers that have fire aspect, sharpness, and looting upgrades. If you do it right, you will get hundred if not thousands of cooked porkchops just lying there. Wire up a vacuum hopper to the culinary generators. If you did it correctly, the spawner that you placed (Also, put a dragon egg in the spawner with some sugar, ghast tears, fermented spider eye and clocks) will spawn pigs (Because the spawners in minecraft default to pigs) and the pigs will die on the mob mashers. The vacuum hopper will suck the items up and put the cooked porkchops into the culinary generators, which will produce stupid amounts of power.
I've made the upgradable geothermal generators from simple generators but I don't know how you actually put in upgrades and I haven't been able to find out how. Any help would be appreciated!
edit: not necessarily asking for advice, mostly sharing what I think is a good design
I generally prefer to use solar for power generation in mod packs but it seems to be very lacking in Sky Factory 4. I was seeing a lot of people say that gas power was the way to go, but I opted for upgradable combustion generators and culinary generators with 2 bonsai pots + blue mulch + apple trees on top (and item tubes/filters).
I'm not even close to using all the power these few put out, they aren't fully upgraded, and as you can see I planned for a lot more space on this platform for expansion.
There are filters on each item extractor that white/blacklists each thing. [whitelist] Sticks/logs/leaves go into the combustion generator, and [whitelist] apples go into the culinary one. [blacklist] Everything else goes to the trash.
They are very modular, other than the connection to the trash. Of course I could have a trash for each one but as the trash seems to have unlimited item processing speed, it doesn't bottleneck at all.
I really wish I had started building a system like this much earlier in the game, I was struggling to build tons of Mekanism advanced solar panels and always short on power. Above this platform there is a 5 x 5 platform of advanced solar panels that produces WAY less power than this set of 6 self contained modular generators. Even with regular dirt or early game mulch this would have gotten me a lot more power a lot earlier in the game and with way less effort than chasing after Solar did.
