This is my setup I can’t identify the reason why it would not melt iron any advice would be helpful.

You can't have 2 different metals inside of a melter at the same time. So you have to empty the tin out before trying to put the iron in.

How do i create a smeltery in skyfactory 4? All the tutorials show that i have to use a smeltery controller/drain, but i don't have these in the NEI menu, and i can't make them. What do i do? I have prestige enabled in my world btw

If you’re in prestige mode, that’s probably the problem. Unlocking those parts is done by a prestige option-until then, you’ll need to use Melters and Alloy Tanks. There’s a prestige option that says something along the lines of ‘everything you need to build a smeltery’ if you want to bother.

You need to create Seared stuff like a Seared Smeltery Controller, than 1/more Seared Tank to insert lava. Make a 3x3 floor and make walls externally. The controller must be at least at the 2 block in height. You don't need to make the 3x3, you can make it smaller or larger.

October 13, 2019 - look up some tutorials on how to use tinker's construct. You clearly already have a faucet and casting table. You're going to need an ingot cast. You should be able to make this by putting a brick in the casting table and pouring 2 gold ingots' worth (1 amber) of molten gold onto the brick.

How do I use the melter and set it up properly? Also how to get the fluids out? I put mine about a pool of lava to get max heat to burn the acacia wood for amber, but it's full now and I dont know how to get the amber out to turn into crystalized amber. The info button for the melter is very vague.

Melter requires a heat source underneath, such as a Seared Tank, which can be filled with lava. To extract items, you need a Faucet (3 seared bricks in a -_- pattern, if i remember) and a casting table or casting basin. I recommend both, since you need a table to make sapling but a basin for blocks. I also recommend using the melter to upgrade to a full size Smeltery, asap, by melting Cobblestone into Seared Bricks.

I've just started SF4 and am having fun. I've got a prestige point and hopping bonsai and have progressed to the point where I'm awash with acorns, resin and amber.

I've automated amber creation with packagers, and would like to automate its smelting but am feeling a bit lost. I'd normally use a pulveriser and something like a redstone furnace, both of which are not in SF4. The other RF-powered smelters require a fair amount of other stuff to get them going. Alternatively, I could try to automate a porcelain melter but am not really sure how.

Any suggestions?

When I had my ambers automated, I piped them into a Mekanism Enrichment Chamber to double them and then an Energized Smelter to smelt them. With a little bit of work, you can upgrade both these machine into their respective factories to smelt more ambers at one time.

Automating the tinkers stuff is pretty easy - pipe the item you want into the melter or smeltery controller depending on what you've got, use fluid pipes and a lever (with redstone controls enabled) to pipe the fluid into the casting table w/ ingot cast, then use an item pipe to pipe out the ingot. Works fine. Probably the biggest downside would be needing a dedicated setup for each type of metal. If you don't stuff will get stuck. I didn't bother with that really, I just made a couple of them and used crates and manually fed a bunch of whatever I wanted to smelt into the crate at input. I didn't attempt to set up a dedicated setup for each because you'll never need all of that before you can do a better setup with mekanism factories or whatever. Biggest pro tip is that tinkers smelteries can be automated with pipes (of the appropriate type), you don't need to use faucets. I'm not sure about the current version, but in the past using pipes was way faster, too, so it's good both ways.

I'm trying to use my melter for the first time and it's not working. I right click it and nothing happens. I can use other tinkerer's construct equipment, just not the melter. I made the porcelain melter as well but it also doesn't work :( any ideas?
