I design with top dwr fronts at 7-1/4" on a 5-3/8" op and 4" dbx. So if you're going with knobs or standard bar pulls, 5pc is just fine in most cases. Slabtop is usually reserved for raised panel selections as the center profile is too narrow to accept hardware. Even then, I am still specifying a 5pc just with a flat center panel.
