I'm renovating my bathroom and going nuts over the tiles choices. After going around hardware stores for weeks, I ended up on one tile, because it had the best looking finish/color/texture etc... but it's 30x90 cm. (about 1 foot by 3 feet). Some people have told me that big tiles on the wall would look dumb.
My bathroom isn't the biggest, so I'd have 2.9 tiles in width, 2.3 tiles in depth and 8 tiles in height. Do you think it would look dumb?
The other options for tiles I've been thinking of are either 30x60 or 20x50, so they'd still be somewhat big.
A dumb idea I just had would be to cut all tiles to be 30x45, but that might look dumber..
Once I figure this out, I can start thinking of the floor...

Small tiles help a small bathroom appear larger, due to the quantity of tile. But, it can also have the effect of looking “too busy”. The color of paint and tile can also make the room feel small are large (dark colors close a room and light colors can open it up. Using a combination of dark and light can really make a difference. Check out my bathroom I did) My bath is 4’x8’ deep.

12 x 24" tile too large for small bathroom?
Here is a picture of the tile with one of the proposed borders if I do that route. So far I haven't found a tile that would just be a texture change to use to break up the expanse and am not sure if the border is too bright and jarring. Any advice? ...
