It's fantastic that you're thinking about starting an online business at such a young age. Taking the initiative to earn your own money and gain entrepreneurial experience will definitely set you up for success in the future. There are plenty of online business ideas you could explore. Here are a few options to consider: Print-on-Demand: You could create unique designs and sell custom merchandise like T-shirts, hoodies, phone cases, and more. Platforms like Printful and Teespring make it easy to set up a store and handle the production and shipping for you. Dropshipping: This involves selling products through an online store without having to hold any inventory. You can find suppliers on platforms like AliExpress, and when a customer places an order, the supplier ships the product directly to the customer. Affiliate Marketing: Promote products from other companies and earn a commission on each sale you generate. You can join affiliate programs like Amazon Associates and share product recommendations through a blog or social media. Content Creation: Start a blog, YouTube channel, or podcast on a topic you're passionate about. As you grow your audience, you can monetize through ads, sponsorships, or selling your own products. Social Media Management: Offer your services to small businesses who need help managing their social media presence. This could involve creating content, scheduling posts, and engaging with followers. Remember, growing an online business requires time, effort, and dedication. Be prepared to learn about digital marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), and social media promotion to maximize your reach. For example, you could look into services like Ascend Viral to help you grow your Instagram presence, which can be a great way to connect with potential customers and showcase your offerings. Good luck on your entrepreneurial journey, and I hope you find a business idea that resonates with you! Answer from Turbulent-Cream-5695 on reddit.com

"Need Ideas: How Can Teens Make Money Without Any Investment?"
I am an old fart, I started in 5th grade shovelling driveways in the winter, and mowing yards in the summer. By 6th or 7th grade, I also learned to fix small engines for lawnmowers and started a small repair business. I could replace a carburetor on a small engine in about 20-30 minutes. I also started to sharpen mower blades too. You could also do power washing for some really good money. Yes, you'll have to have a couple hundred bucks to buy one if your parents don't already have one. it'll pay itself back in one or two jobs. More on reddit.com

Any long-term side business ideas for teens?

Learn how to develop scripts using python or another simple language then go around to small businesses near you and ask what they'd need help with. Automate the task with the scripts that you write and sell it as a monthly subscription.

Right now I'm building a program that generates sales leads by searching a couple databases for a small manufacturing company near me. That's an example but just barely scratching the surface

What businnesses can I start as a teenager?
Best thing at your age is literally being the snack shop kid at school. While everyone else is on like £10 pocket money a week or smth, you can easily push £70-80+ profit a week. At least that's what i did like more than 10 years ago. Best thing is its no extra hours. You can just do it in school time. So you actually have room to even do another business idea after school lmao. I'll forever maintain this is the absolute fastest and easiest venture to start as it literally only involves you getting your backpack and stopping at the shop and loading up before school.... Or expand it to do weekend Costco trips. All your clients are all already there too in one location. It's a limited availability job (age 13-17ish) tho. Wish I'd grinded this more when i got the chance tbh, i only did about 2 years consistently of this. More on reddit.com

What makes a good business for teens?

Starting a business as a teen can be an excellent way to gain experience and develop workplace skills.

When searching for a business to start, it’s important to consider the needs of teenage entrepreneurs.

Here are five key qualities that can help make businesses successful for teenagers:

  • Flexibility: Having flexible hours is essential when running your own business as a teen. Being able to work around school, sports, and other commitments is necessary for maintaining a balance between business and personal life.
  • Low Costs: Finding businesses with a low startup or recurring costs can be beneficial for teens still in school or just starting out. Low costs also ensure that the rewards outweigh the risks of launching a new venture.
  • Scalability: Scalable business models are great options for teens who are looking to grow their income over time. This might include selling digital products online or providing services such as tutoring or consulting on an hourly basis.
  • Technology: Leveraging technology to increase efficiency and productivity can be a great way for teens to compete in the market. Knowing how to use existing platforms or create new ones can help teens stay competitive and make their businesses stand out.
  • Networking: Building connections is key for any business, but even more so for teens. Networking with other entrepreneurs, mentors, and potential customers can help teens find new opportunities and build their businesses.

I'm a 16 year old wanting to start some kind of online business. Long story short I just want to have my own money when I turn 18 so I can, maybe, buy myself a car and not drive my parent's car or even worse to have them buy me one...

So if anyone can give me some online business ideas or some opinions it would be great!

I've experimented with a few online businesses from drop shipping through building websites and other e-commerce stuff. What no one tells you is that you need to be incredibly good at marketing and you need the budget to spend. So that being said you need to decide whether you are going to sell physical or virtual goods online. Or whether you are going to sell physical or virtual services online. IMO the easiest thing to do would be to get really good at WordPress, get a subscription to site ground that lets you host unlimited web pages. Then go to your town and offer to build web pages for people where you host it and then charge an upfront fee for the page design and a monthly fee for the hosting and maintenance.
