La-z-boy. Don’t get an oversized one. Make sure it fits your body. So feet on the floor, butt all the way back, back support and that it doesn’t tilt your head forward. I have a rocker recliner from them that checks all these boxes. I also like that with these you can push back at an angle without raising the feet if you want. I just happened to be at NFM yesterday and took a look around at recliners. Ended up liking the style I already have and it was $330. Saw some others that were ok too but all were under $500. Stressless are pretty excellent. Last for ages. Excellent leather and construction. I suggest getting yourself a well maintained used model to try it out, as new ones are pricey. More on reddit.com

Have you looked at stressless or fjords? They’re a bit different than typical La z boys but they’re ergonomically fantastic and made in Norway/excellent warranty. Many different models, some furniture store around you might have them. Also can find on fb marketplace to avoid the sticker shock. More on reddit.com

Probably L-Z-Boy. They make their own mechanisms. Barcalounger was Ok and they also made their own mechanisms. Anything from Century Furniture is top shelf, but they don't make their own mechanisms. They use - or they used to use - Leggett & Platt mechanisms. All the other recliner brands are for the discount furniture retailers, stuffed, plushy junk. Flip the recliner over. Look at the staples. Are they neatly done? Or are they installed haphazard? That's one giveaway. The warranty is another marker. Read the fine print, the exclusions. Is the recliner American made?
